Disney screwed over so many fans and Employees, of this franchise.
Actually Oswald went back to Disney in 2006. Theres a interesting story about it here: https://www.inverse.com/article/12582-walt-disney-s-weird-buddy-what-happened-to-oswald-the-lucky-rabbit . Pretty sad when you think about it, oswald got shut down by universal studios, then he went back to disney and got shut down again in epic disney by disney.
Yeah, this is almost certainlly the reason why. The second game already has regular controller support-and higher quality art assets for that matter. They'd have to put a lot more work in to the first one.
Considering the "quality" of the two games...
The 3DS Epic Mickey is actually good though. It's by the developer that did Monster Tale...I hope they're doing all right, as both games are really good. Hell, it LOOKS way better than the Junction Point Epic Mickey's...
