the red orbs

Okay so to start off I am not going to bash the game... I played this game on the PS3 and loved it and was so excoted when I seen it ported over to the PC platform. I was also excited when I seen in the options that it was set up for controller support but then I couldn't get the contoller to work no matter what I did. Fine I still love the game :) and am still stoked. Now I have been collectiong the red orbs through out the game so far and from what I can rememeber you can train Monkey throughouth the game and it was easy to do with the controller... I just got this game yesterday so here is my question. I have been collecting the red orbs throught game play and when it comes time to use them and since I can't use the controller to do it how do I do it with the keyboard and mouse?

With default keybindings, and once you have the upgrade functionality unlocked, it worked like this, for me:
1. Hold middle mouse button, then press 'S' (movement back) to access the upgrades menu
2. Here use the cursor keys and Enter to select the category of upgrades
3. Then again use cursor keys and Enter to select the upgrade to buy

Important: Having your mouse pointer on or near upgrades can override your keyboard inputs, so I moved my mouse completely to one side of the screen for this.
You can also use your mouse to navigate through the menus and select upgrades, I guess, but I found it awkward, as for me the clickable areas not always seem to match with the icons etc.

My 360 controller was plug and play. didnt need to configure anything

appreciate all...I was kinda crapping on the game trying to figure out how to use the orbs when the upgrade option wasn't available option wasn't available yet. Wanted to thank everyone for your help. :) Patients and listening here is a virtue you guys rock! thanks again :)
