massive fps drop when it autosaves

so i just got this in the humble bundle and whenever the game auto saves the fps go into the single digits for 2 seconds or so, basically the duration of the save. changing the settings doesnt seem to matter. im running a nvidea 2080 and a intel 9700.

I was in the same boat, only it was much worse on my potato PC XD I've tried many suggested tweaks, and what worked for me was installing SweetFX as per this guide:

It's a simple drop-in mod because the author kindly gathered all the necessary files into one archive linked to "Preset Download."

The FPS drop is still there, but it has become much less aggravating for me. It wouldn't hurt to try, I suppose.
