Mecha BREAK

Mecha BREAK

Luminae needs a buff or rework
As someone who likes to play support(clue's in the name), I tried to play Luminae a couple of times (because I got tired of playing the "bruisers" as well) and I feel like it's kinda useless right now.

It's a pretty neat kit. In normal mode you got heals for days, in corruption mode, you can deal damage. But, also, in corruption mode, you're an ant biting a tiger. You almost have no damage, you have AOE that's melee range, and you have a neat passive on your 2 that's also melee range. I think I understand the design decision behind it but it's still undertuned. All your AOE (heal and target interruption) are all "melee range". Problem is, you don't have melee mech survivability. You don't have a shield, you don't have decent damage, you don't have another health bar (Alysnes is so annoying rn).

So either buff normal mode to make Luminae an actual healer or buff corruption so you can at least actual help in fights.

I see the damage mode of Luminae as a way of "support" just to give you some combat power to help your team, its not supposed to kill that Tricera sitting on C waiting for the key to drop. But I agree, the problem is you always need to be very close with your team to heal them, thus became the primary target of the enemy, and you dont have much defensive power against that, specially if a panther decides to pin you far away.

yeah, I guess because I only target the big guys (ultimate ___) because they're the once whose static on a point, it feels like you don't deal any damage. Good thing the weapons are actually ranged. But still, the heal is like nothing. You can barely see it helping in a fight.

for corruption mode, that would be fun.

The only change I would suggest, and see how that plays out a bit, is to make the melee range not only short range AoE DoT, but also a damage reflect when within short range. meaning you get hit for 10k, 5k of it bounces back to the attacker, and the lum takes 5k.

the main point for corruption mode is not for damage, it's for lingering damage so their armor won't regenerate, as they explain in the arsenal, lumine's drone latched to enemy, and give them damage over time, meaning they won't able to regenerate fluid armor longer so your team can chase them and finish the hunt

also, since her mist is also a passive area damage, it can be used as interruption for things when combined with her massive mobility from boosted mode

Corruption needs to do more damage. It barely tickles the enemy. Heals are alright.
Far as I can tell Luminae is a ranged healer that is meant to apply drones and then gtfo. So the mist healing/damage ability does seem kinda of out of place.

It would make more sense if it was an aoe drone/missile you could leave behind, instead of being an aura that follows you around.

I agree, on the caveat that I think that dashing should remove a stack. Like one dash should remove one drone.

I disagree as a Luminae player, I think it's average/on the strong side.

Sure, corruption mode damage is low but don't forget it's directly on health. Meaning you're a serious danger to any target with, say, one third of health left. You can litterally stick to them like a mosquito until their death and few will be able to counterattack with Luminae very good aerial capability (the exception being Narukami because you can't target it in stealth).

I'm not even afraid of close combat units, escaping them is usually easy with boosted aerial, and you can heal yourself more than they energy bar can handle. Unless you get caught in Welkin force field, but oh well, anyone is in trouble in this situation.

Healing and dashing a lot mean you can do a lot of good with few chance of getting taken down. Luminae survivability is exceptional given you don't get badly caught.

And you tend to attract attention, but you're a healer with excellent manoeuver. So it's almost a good thing.

I think the same as Kinxil, im a Luminae player and i get consistently MVP in verge matches, and while I agree its not an easy to use striker in mashmak (since you get deleted really fast by lvl 4 modular weapons) you need to play safe and avoid getting caught alone

you get infinite energy if you play right, and with the right mods, you can pretty much be untouchable

even if you get caught by a melee striker, chances are you are going to outboost out of melee range pretty quick, even getting caught by welkin's cage is not a gameover if you react fast enough

dps is low, but you are not a damage dealer so, throw some corruption drones every now and then to help out, but stick to healing, even using ether wings corruption mode to force opponents to lose lock for a sec can change a fight to your favour
ok guys but do you get MVP in non-bot lobbies

In all honesty, I think the supports are some of the things they absolutely nailed.

The clunkiness on wielding the weapons and shooting them is a bit of a bummer for me, but overall healing is a bit lackluster. It can top off, but not deal much with bursts in open areas.

that's not on Luminae's stereotype. That's a tank stereotype mechanic
