I'd say Welkin is really dumb but I think he's doing exactly what he is designed to do. You can't make a slow brawler with zero sustain unless he's puking damage at you. And he absolutely does not survive at all without support patching him up, so i guess that's fine. He's definitely a newbie crusher though, no two ways about it.
I'd love to critique inferno. Maybe in a million years when I unlock him.
As a alysnes main Welkin is a punching bag i meme on,
That's just the thing, as you said, with the right mech (alysnes) welkin can be a punching bag.
Likewise Tricera, while very powerful, is just the most common ultraheavy mech new players unlock as he's very cheap, and quite easy to play, but if you take Stego you might stop wanting to use Tricera as he has a little less survivability, but a ton extra firepower to cover an entire area with heavy damage.
Of course, that also has a tradeoff, his defense is directional and he lacks the self repair which is often useful against low DPS teams that can't delete you, like a good hurricane (very rare) can.
And
Like you said, Welkin deals a ton of damage, but he'd be useless if he didn't, the flying bricks would also have no use if they couldn't hold lock down an area and get really tanky as they turn imobile.
tanks are ridiculous strong, it's not even worth fighting them unless you really have to.
falcon and skyride mfs stay on the air all the time raining down bullet and homing missiles while your pitiful ass can't do anything about that, no counter play, nothing.
game got 2 snipers, one has infinity stealth with bonker dmg while the other is an useless floating target for the enemy team.
Elynes basically gets 3 lives and it's unfair af it's keep coming back because of free lives
supports are bad and not fun to play.
"heavy damage" mech can't even do anything to tanks, penetration dmg sound good but it doesn't work in reality when tanks has armor + shield + self repair while equipping with strong weapons.
and panther... i don't even bother talking about this one.
As for supports, I disagree, if there is one type of mech that would be above others it's support (either one of them), but that's just the nature of their role.
A team fighting with a support vs one without has a very clear advantage.
I mean, everybody seems to be complaining about TTK, specially against the ultraheavy mechs, obviously regenerating that health that's so hard to take down would make this "problem" exponentially "worse".
But he did get something new, now that his halo doesn't fire everywhere in shield mode it's quite devastating when your teamate panther gets someone with his lance, and then you keep bursting down the target through Panther as he's still stuck in that lance, depending on what's caught that's can be an instant kill.
being on air dash 24/7 raining down bullet without any real counter or threat is not balance.
having 3 free lives while everything else gets 1 is not balance.
having to rely on the whole team to bring down one single tank on the enemy team is not balance.
having almost infinity EN and a strong shield on an pure penetration dmg mech is not balance
Like, Pinaka AC: 4 is 1v2 Tricera/Inferno.
+ Tricera: is manageable. Time the missiles, wait for heavy gat to reload, get close, unload. When it get half health it flees, set up a 3-sided box in the center prior and pray it paths to one side of it, while the inferno hopefully chooses the other side.
+ Inferno: WTF, He has to be Billy Mays. "But wait, theres more!" headass. You got Hurricane-style death rays, you got H-style D-rays with a kamehameha, and if that wasn't enough he's got twin disintegration rays every 5 secs. If you could manage to survive all that and manage to lock on long enough to deal any sort of damage. Good Job...Sike, that was his clone and now he's a light year away and you've wasted all your energy.
