Non-binary is such senseless term.
It automatically means binary system with two counterparts - binary and non-binary.

So yeah, mental health issues aside, if this thing panders to those who don't play video games, it won't even live its short mecha service game life fully.

Eh, I wouldn't be surprised if that particular question is already set up with those options in a default template and no one saw any particular reason to change it.

A lot of the surveys I've seen were from third party providers, not the company themselves, who just customized them to their clients.
