lol only "near" 15.

That's barely enough for one mech, and likely have subpar rolls.

Maybe you should try clicking on more parts, you can equip 3 in each category. The numbers can easily add up to 10-20%(if you stack the same buffs, for example EN capacity) and if you can't notice, skill issue.

The INFERNO mech can be unlocked without the battlebass btw. Don't know why people keep spreading and yelling to the top of their lungs false information before actually knowing all the facts.

Nothing is locked behind a paywall. You can also earn the cash shop in-game currency by playing the PvPvE mode.

Finally a good mecha game we haven't had in forever- with lots of features, great graphics and potential- and miserable people are already trying sink it.

Anyways, I agree it is slightly a bit of a grind to get new mechas and feel they should solve this by either letting us choose/trial our first mecha, or just give us 3 in the beginning for free. With this I wouldn't mind, because at least we'd get to play the mecha we'd want to at the beginning, and it'll give us something to work towards to achieve and unlock the rest.
so as someone who abhors and absolutely will not touch the trash of a mode people call extraction it is paywall locked. got it
Yes, if you play a game that allows you to unlock everything in the game, by playing the game, which is the definition of any game that's not p2w btw, and you refuse to actually play the game you won't unlock things.

Hope that helps

If it takes you 100 years to unlock what $5 can get you instantly, it's p2win.

You don't get to decide what the definition of p2win is.

The mech costs are way to arbitrary for the high cost ones, its just dumb. At least have a standardized Matrix cost for all the mechs instead of some being obscenely high and others being dirt cheap.

The 3 week grind of Mashmak for Inferno is legitimately unacceptable. I don't even mind having him locked behind a Mashmak grind of a whole weeks worth of grinding, but a three week grind is absurd beyond belief (which mind you is 3 weeks because each week is capped at 6000 merit and he costs 18000). Either make him cheaper or remove the weekly cap for Merit entirely.

Oh and if you look at the "extra perks" in the Special Tactical Support page, its only capped at 6000 a week IF YOU PAY for"Special Services". This means, that it will likely be an even LONGER grind for ONE mech if they keep them locked behind Mashmak grinding. Also worth noting being able to use the cargo rocket 3 times in Mashmak is also tied to this, as well as being able to have 3 slots per rocket.

I just REALLY don't want a Gundam Evolution 2.0 situation where the monetization model kneecaps itself despite how fun the gameplay is.

Well yeah, if they pretend the game isn't p2w by pretending you can unlock stuff by playing the game, requiring an unreasonable amount of time to get something since the game won't be around for that long then that's a fraud.

But yeah, I don't get to decide the definition of P2W, it was established over 20 years ago, we just have some ignorant people here using a word they don't understand.

Of course, if you just want to use freestyle semantics then you lose the boundaries of whatever you're trying to define, if simply paying, for anything, is P2W, there are no games that are no P2W in gaming history, unless you can find a truly f2p one with zero monetization. Maybe flash porn games would fit your criteria.

Even games with any DLC are suddenly "p2w", and you could even stretch it to base, paid games without DLCs or expansion packs, after all, you can't win if you don't pay the base cost either.

Words are only useful if they have a specific meaning.

So you know definition of p2w doesn't specify what is purchasable cannot be acquired through normal gameplay.

Cosmetic DLC, checkmate.

It does, that is, specifically, the only possible meaning for the term, and the reason it exists.

Just like F2P excludes games in which you can pay for things optionally.

Oh, ok, so p2w means games in which you don't have to pay to win, and every single game on steam.

Great, so you're just making noise and not arguing for or against anything, got it.

Just what dictionary are you pulling these absolute and rigid definitions from? There's all of one easily accessible one that even acknowledges these terms with a definition and it doesn't even match your own.
