Mecha BREAK

Needing to grind to buy mechs will actually kill this game
Insane that a current direct competitor, marvel rivals, has all characters from release into the future free to play and this game you have to grind to unlock mechs.
Especially since you can't even play duplicate mechs on the same team (which is also dumb mind you)
There are better ways to maintain player engagement

It would be fine if it had separate story mode or something, but for PvP you need to have everything unlocked from get go

Im mad so ill point out a vaguely similar game that does thing im mad about different, therefore this game bad. It is not that I personally dislike it, its that its objectively bad, because you see this other game does it in a different way.

Gating them behind a lock in a game that cosplays as something remotely competitive is a joke, but people are used to being treated like dirt. It probably won't have too much impact unless unlocks overall take too much time and the game dishes out too few rewards.

The only problem I see here is the lack of getting good while expecting instant gratification.

You are basically given a free mech after the tutorial. When you can't use your second mech you'll have to learn to use the starter. You can easily grind out the first 4 or 5 mechs in a couple hours or less.

Not just different, better.

People keep using the word "grind" like it's a perfectly acceptable and enjoyable activity the developers make you do. If you picked a mech you didn't like then you're pretty much stuck. Gating mechs behind the "grind" and gating all that other stuff in the achievement levels is just not worth the effort.
the grind is ass, inferno needs 18000 while one mission run give you... 60

Never said it's bad, the grind is bad. Also they are literally both hero shooters so it is the same type of game.

This is like a non-argument in such a way I can't even call you a shill you probably just have a single digit IQ

From another thread
"i Don't know if it will slow down much but I've only played half a day today and I got half of them, granted, they were the cheaper ones, but still, that's quite a light grind so far.

Some of the more expensive ones look like they are going to be annoying to get, specially Panther, but so far it looks like it would take less time to unlock everything in this game than just the credit/sample upgrades from Helldivers 2"

Eh, LoL did it for years.

I agree the mechs themselves shouldn't be the grind, the cosmetics for mechs and pilots should be the grind. Currently it just makes it so new players have less freedom to choose and test to find what mech they like.

Not to defend the grind to unlock model, but every mecha can be used in training mode so there is always that if you need to test before you choose.

This makes no sense and sounds like a troll post. Nearly all games that don't give everything instantly and easily do this. Its normal to *dislike* your starter or your picked mech. You get to trial them before buying. You can view their entire kit in the ''weapon'' section when looking at a mech. So if you end up buying a mech because of ignorance (meaning lack of knowledge or refusal of learning), thats on you.

If your issue is simply you don't have time to grind due to irl, sure. Reasonable argument. If its because you want all the Mecha's easily, you have an issue with instant gratification and you're addicted. If you simply just want cosmetic-like grind, that'd kill off the care for the game for many.

If the issue is economy, now that's an entirely different argument. Though most of the Under-20k Mechs can be unlocked pretty easily. If somethings expensive and time consuming to get (Time consumption =/= Difficulty), theres a reason. Probably because they outclass whats before it.

I personally just don't understand this sudden issue of grinding. I just took a look at your profile and you've got no place to complain. You have played games that are *DESIGNED* for grind.
maybe. but having one rank for every mech will kill it more. because just because I am great with one mech, doesn't mean I am high ranked with other mechs.
honestly most of the mech i use is low cosst lol so no wwonder i am not complaining(welkin+falcon)
