You just unlock mechs to have different playstyles, every mech has their strengths and weaknesses, there is no mech that is best at everything at a p2w scale. If that sort of logic is the case then LoL and other moba games are heavily p2w with all those locked champions.
I understand that this is a generally accepted practice but I'm not going to fame because it's more acceptable in some cases
such practices must be condemned regardless of the context
