Mecha BREAK

Mecha BREAK

Test Pilot 8: Avoid armor purge.
Possible?
Getting hit before you can even move is already a bit much, but daym son that Welkin is evil.
I can't even swap to melee mode before I'm down to 1/4 shield.

It's very possible, just spam perfect block/counter.

I just killed Welkin before timer's up.

Something tells me this level wasn't made with recent buff in mind.

Yeah your full of it dude. Unless my game is different than the one you are playing, it's down to half shield before you are in melee range, then instant death once he locks you in.
"you're"

The tutorials before that should have told you melee goes through liquid armor so you don't care how much shooting damage you take(vast majority if not all of it is from Welkin's bazooka, because iirc his drones also do melee dmg) as long as yourliquid armor isn't completely shot. For that reason you also don't really need to be shooting(because your shots will generally get blocked by Welkin's liquid armor before it gets to close range, after which it really doesn't matter) the primary gun(but use railgun for stagger right before melee). It also told you to boost away to cancel stagger from getting hit...etc.

Do me a favor and don't actually start pvp matches with real people before you pass Test Pilot 8.

EDIT: thanks for the free points, no refunds!

The parry timing is pretty tough. Managed 3 parries at best but I'm getting hit by his axe AND drones. Ooof.

Parry in Mecha Break works a bit weirdly, compared to other games. you need to block way before you are hit, so your goal in this challenge is to survive the initial attack, when he box you in and for the rest, try to maintain somewhat close distance, so he doesn't start shooting you and just parry his attacks. He will box you at least 3 times for duration, but at this point it's just a matter of managing your shield and armor.

For spin blades you just have to take a hit, recover with dash and block for next Welkin attack, otherwise your shield may not last long enough to survive the challenge. If it breaks, you can't parry.

Not at all, you can block early and as long as the energy shield is extended, that's a perfect block->counter if you get hit by melee(which is a huge window).

honestly best thing to do against welkin is time your parries if you play something like turret or whatever you time a perfect parry stagger us and then unleash all your guns we're dead.

Conflict of interest.

You think I didn't know you'll just spin2win to avoid that? :p

This braindead mission took me a lot of tries.
tactics -> 1) survive first cube in air. 2) Then kill this Brawler with counter attacks (switch to melee in start of the fight).
2 nd phase should be without mistakes on counter attacks, also you want to finish him before 2nd cube (or dead).

Pretty much what the others said, either you go for the kill like they said or dash to the side at the start, you'll evade the first 3 shots by boosting, 4 and 5 will most likely hit. Ready your shield after that since he'll enter melee range, you'll most likely parry once or twice before he spawn the box.

Parry his first attack in the box, lower your shield, the drones will stagger you, dash until you manage to raise your shield and parry him, he'll stagger and his box will disappear by the time he gets back up.

Stay close to him and get him in a loop of parry/stagger until he spawns the box, and repeat the previous step. Once the box disappear either chain parry/stagger him or create some distance to let your liquid armor soak ranged damage and you should be fine.

That's the way to do it if you don't feel confident enough to trade blows with him.
It's technically possible but terribly designed, convoluted, and requires way too much precision to be consistently done and be fun.

you can do it by just spamming side dash and block at same time, as soon as you get a perfect block left click for 3 stabs and press block again right after for free perfect block.

My point still stands. Who's going to intuitively figure that out? /rhetorical

What point?
Anyone who paid attention to the previous tutorial missions in the chain.

And if someone forgot for some reason they won't be reminded. Still jank incarnate, hiding crucial info in previous missions.
Just skip it. The AI isn't tuned right and you don't get anything from the tutorial that you won't lose in the wipe.
