Avast Trojan Virus

My Avast Anti Virus quarantined 2 specific file from the Mecha Break Demo Download. Should I close my Antivurs and risk it or nah for a demo?

false positive, if it was a legit trojan, they would get kicked off steam instantly.

Yes i also just noticed the IDP.Generic virus that actually is a trojan horse. SO DISAPOINTED!. I will be adding this game and the developers to my ignore list.

Honestly your first mistake was using Avast Anti Virus. That program itself is a virus, same as Norton and all those other useless bloatware anti virus programs.

So.. that isn't how anti-virus works... I used to use ESET but these days I don't use anything, I just stick with Windows Defender and be careful with what I touch.

Even if an anti-virus scan says the thing is fine that doesn't mean it's safe, even if an anti-virus flags it as malicious that doesn't mean it's actually malicious. Anti-virus just look at patterns and flag things based off of the patterns unless there's a specific signature to recognize it as actual malware. I made a program to make sure my Discord bot is always running, it was never uploaded anywhere and it's completely safe yet it was flagged as a trojan dropper by ESET lol. All it did was launch another program if it didn't see it running lol.

Well, avast is a bit of a joke, personally. I haven't used it in over a decade. Used to have it, then it stopped updating, and yet wouldn't allow me to uninstall it or install another anti-virus. Only was able to get rid of it when i was forced to reinstall windows after getting a virus after over a year of it not updating. Malwarebytes and Spybot are much better than the big named ones, IMO.

Bud using avast in 2025 haha, kiddo all third party anitvirus are scam and the actual spy ware, you dont need anything else besides Windows Defender and malwarebytes.

Recommend reporting it on the steam page and let steam handle it and figure it out.
You can find the flag to report it underneath where you usually find view discussion threads on the steam page.

both exe doesn't show up on anything with virus total if that's what got flagged for you.
granted it's missing the files to run the game.
