And all that karma point goes to me.
No, not really.
I just don't use "Steam Discussions" often, otherwise most of that time was spent in Warframe-- a completely different genre.
Haven't seen other places of discussion for this game either, I only heard about it from a few people passively. Naturally I'd go to the one spot that's my next-best-bet.
Topic is a genuine question though. IS there any software I should be concerned about?
Stuff like "Easy Anti-cheat" or other infamous ones? Judging by the number of "Cheaters already?!" threads, it'd be safe to assume it's either a really poor anti-cheat or none at all.
... that's... unnecessarily rude.
Relax Bink, just grit your teeth and wait patiently. SOMEBODY is bound to answer the question... hopefully.
Solid question and one that I would like answered as well. I see only that they require a EULA agreement, but that's about it. I shall hope that they will not use some egregious form of DRM, but seeing as how they have some kind of battle royal game mode . . .
While on one hand, I agree.
It does seem however that their ingame bots are ABNORMALLY destructive.
Trying fighting against an AI Wilken or Alysnes, you can't get a single strike in on them.
It's not difficult to fight them when it's a person though, because these bots have INSANE "reaction time" so to speak.
I only mention the bots because they can show in lobbies and will effectively be so broken that they function LIKE cheaters. Narukami bots tend to lock onto targets that they have no business seeing as well.
So in a sense, I'm not sure if it IS cheaters... or if it's just really convincing names put on bots.
Either way, an Anti-Cheat is needed in some form. Let's just hope it's not one that digs too deeply to make things a hassle, because that will kill the game faster than bots/cheaters.
I'm all for anticheat, just not kernel-level.
Sometimes life is just weird like that. I know the internet loves latching onto stupid things, often to the detriment of everyone involved.
I'm mostly just covering my bases, as I know someone would LIKELY say "Oh, he just hates {XYZ}" instead of using their heads.
... that and chat here was looking pretty volatile as is, so I tried to avoid being another batch of vitriol to the pile. Y'know?
Nexon is South Korean, and Tencent is Chinese. The devs of Mecha Break, Seasun Games, is primarily Chinese, but they also have employees in Silicon Valley, according to their website.
In any case, it was completely unnecessary to even mention that entire paragraph. It didn't add ANYTHING to the OP's main intent. What Nexon and Tencent do are irrelevant, since they have nothing to do with this game. Whether or not this game includes a kernel-level (rootkit) anti-cheat or not has nothing to do with the rest of Asia.
I hope they use less invasive anti-cheat, but given how generous the targeting is in this game, I doubt cheaters will really be a big problem.
That sound even more rich coming from you when steam has those privilege. And you using Steam questioning about whataboutism. You are liability neither trustable.
