Upon first launching the game, it should look pretty wonky as folks have reported. First step is to rotate your device 90 degrees in either direction to trigger the screen changing from landscape to portrait, then rotate back to original orientation. At this point, the screen appears cut in half with part of the game displayed on the left half of the screen and the right half filled mostly with large empty border space. From here, use your finger to drag up from the bottom of the screen twice so that you trigger the task bar appearing and the game window should become hidden while your desktop and taskbar are displayed. While your desktop is visible, use the Legion R button on the right controller to activate the Legion side window. The resolution will likely have been set to 1200x800 automatically, so change it back to 2560x1600 and then click the Legion R button again and you should be back to the game window in full screen with only very minimal borders on the top and bottom of the screen now. Oddly, the in-game resolution settings show Fullscreen mode at 720x1280 but when you press Legion R again, it pulls you out of the game window back to desktop and shows 2560x1600. Note that using the Legion R button and Legion side window at this point sometimes appears to freeze the screen and the side window won't close by backing out of it or pressing Legion R again, but if you drag up from the bottom of the4 screen twice again to activate the task bar and then click the Saga Frontier 2 icon in the task bar, it'll take you right back to the game as it was meant to be played.
I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can help explain things a little more clearly.
I tried this but didn't work. Probably different software or driver version. I guess just need to hope it's patched.
