Game runs at 22-24 fps... on an NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti!
This is a common issue I've come across since upgrading to Windows 10 Pro v1708 build 16299.xx a few weeks ago as an Insider on an i7-4770K, 16 GB, GTX 1080 Ti PC using the latest graphics drivers for my card (currently v388.10 Hotfix) and that is abysmal performance of 22-24 fps with extremely low CPU and GPU usage. I use a 165 Hz G-SYNC 2560x1440 monitor.

This seems to be a bug with some (not all) Unity engine games that do not support exclusive fullscreen. I have encountered this issue with Road Redemption, Dungeons 3 and Cuphead. All of those games can be "fixed" (worked around) by using the exclusive fullscreen command in the game's Steam Launcher options: -window-mode exclusive

However, that doesn't work for this game as it refuses to start in exclusive fullscreen mode. As such the game runs at 24 fps and I can find no way to get around this. The game is currently unplayable at this framerate.

Are the developers aware of this issue? In my experience, it is *only* an issue with Unity so far as other engines run fine (e.,g. Unreal Engine 3/4, CryEngine, Frostbite, etc). Even Microsoft's own UWP/DX12 games work fine and they do not use exclusive fullscreen either.

This is the first I’ve heard of this issue. Unfortunately the version of Unity used in the game is a year or more old, and updating to a new version carries a lot of risk of unexpected bugs. Is this an issue with a specific driver, or the Windows version?
I've found that Alt-Tabbing to the desktop fixes this issue although it does eventually return.

I did use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to reinstall the v388.00 WHQL driver, which actually fixed a stuttering issue I had with some games. Sadly, though it does not fix this issue I've come across with some Unity games running with low CPU/GPU usage and framerates.

As I said the workaround for the other games is to force exclusive fullscreen but that does not work with this game.

Thanks for the reply though.
