Background juttering
Hi team,

The game is extraordinary, I think it will serve a huge demographic of folks who would love factory games but are intimidated by Factorio.

The game runs great but I'm wondering if there are plans to address the "judderint" of the environments/backgrounds as the player walks around

No frames are being lost, but perhaps the background is being rendered at a slightly different fps than the rest? It causes traversal to be rough on the eyes rather than a smooth experience.

Enabling/disabling Vsync or using Steam Deck's fps locker has no impact, so this may be in the game engine itself.

Hey, I am not sure I have seen any other reports of this yet! Would you be able to record it for us so that we can see it? Is it only on the deck? All details suuuper appreciated.

There is a slight mismatch between the movement physics and frame rate that causes that slight jutter you're referring to. I'll dig into it and see if I can smooth things out more. :)
Yes! I've heard this from other devs. Even a .01 mismatch can cause the issue. Thanks for looking into it!
