How does continuing on a file save work?
I don't really get it. I have a save file. I game over. I overwrite it with new information. I don't really know what is happening. Can someone explain specifically what is going on here. If I get a game over, then why is there a continue to begin with? Does something stay? It says my score or something or weapon values. I looked it up, and it says you get more continues and lives after x amount of time, but specifics would be great. thanks. be nice.

On Story mode, you can save your progress and use that savefile in subsequent runs to start with your previously attained progress. You can repeat this over and over, and even Game Overs will have given you some progress.

Savefiles will keep your:
- weapon levels - that level up by being used, and even faster by chaining enemies
- lives - that increase every 10minutes or so
- score - which eventually caps at max after many runs

You can use your save files to have a much easier time and earn achievements, but you won't be able to upload your score or save the run by continuing (only by using New Game).

Basically, it's worth having 1 maxed save for casual play (98 lives, and weapons at lv33), but if you want to go for scores and save replays, you'll have to start a new game.
