why would they hide the release date on steam but show it on their trailer?

Laziness? Maybe being forgetful or not knowing how? Who knows. We'll find out soon enough if the release date in the trailer is legit or not, though.

yeah neither Livewire or Treasure have mentioned it in their twitter feeds, i wonder if it's actually the release date or something premature. Where did gematsu even get that trailer from?

Laziness would be releasing the game in a glitched state.

I'd rather have no precise date unless it's very soon (like days before).

It's probably more to do with some Japanese devs having a brutally hard time with both the English language and platforms like Steam - not knowing what forms to fill and such.

I also wonder why the price isn't disclosed yet, or there isn't a pre-buy option.

Usually games pop up around the store refresh time. So around two hours twenty minutes from now.

FWIW looking at SteamDB they updated....something.....yesterday. And they did something with the store pics (higher quality versions maybe?) three days ago.

Yeah, on SteamDB, it had the trailer with the release date of 8/18, then suppose LiveWire removed it and put the same trailer, but without the release date. That was all during the time the Store Page went live. So they're changing up the Store Page here and there, but yeah, doubtful its actually coming out today.

Unironically, in a similar situation, Raiden III: Mikado Maniax has yet to appear on Steam, despite its console ports released a while ago.
