It does have some bugs, which are supposedly getting fixed, and a few problems here and there, but considering how fast FiD got fixed, I doubt the bugs will be around for long.
But, story-wise, Order of the Dawn and Shadow of the Phoenix.and Dragon Storm, are still my favorite. :)
Because the enemy wasnt evil for the lolz of it. they where people with different goals and ideals, then ther was malacay, the soulcarrier and the shapers. Faith in desitiny and demons of the past both make the same mistake. Big threat to the world.
For a gamer like myself: that is a boring overdone concept.
Seen it, done it, killed it, a thousend times over.
I do still like DotP story-wise, though. Seemed like an improvement from FiD.
It is also worth noting that the npc have as much personaly as a chair.
Yes save the villiage i heard you the first 50 times.:P
I am sure it would.
I restarted SP1 on my first play thru about 6 times because id convince myself i was gimp because i coudnt kill that mob ect, when the actual truth was ANY combo you could dream up was workable and fun to play.
Faith in Destiny wasn't so convincing to me considering depth of immersion, length and such, where I see a clear development in Demons from the Past.
On the other Hand, the FiD had the RTS-Part a lot better implemented than the later, where you lead armies a bit too rarely for my taste and in rather uninteresting scenarios, considering that RPG/RTS-Merge is the main concept of the game. (for the record, Im in the Ice wastes so far, so I don't know if some good fights will still come.)
That was done a LOT better in Spellforce 2 and other earlier games.
last but not least, I want to add, that I was never a die-hard fan of the series, but always enjoyed it as decent. Not especialy awesome, but also not entirely bad. A nice series to gap creative blocks in the development of hit titles with, and especialy DotP is enough fun in that regard. :D
Sometimes the story arcs seem a bit bogus, predictable and repetitive.. but on the other hand I like how the developers played with that in some conversations. (I loved those parts where the characters joked about having to find someone to get quests, or the interaction speaker<->avatar in the godly trials. :D )
Also, you can never have enough mind-boggling story arcs about time travel, gods and magic now.. can you?
