Worth the Buy?
I've been a Spellforce fan for many years now and i was just wondering if this was worth a buy or if it isn't. I'm not sure after the last one so i just wanted to see if they had improved in some way?
Thanks for the replys :)

Depends on your definition of worth.
Is it better then faith in destiny?
Most definitly.
Is it better then shadow wars or dragonstorm.
debatable.

The story is ridicules(mortals facing gods ridicules)
If you havent played the previous game you wonder what the hell is going on.
Multiplayer to my knowledge still doesnt work.

That said it has a good story(if you can get over the sheer stupidty of the shaikan fighting a god)
There is alot of charater development since faith in destiny.
The free game shoud work.

So if you want the game because you like a good if somewhat ridicules story.
Then yes i say it is worth it.
If you want something with replay value get dragon commander, sins of the solar empire, age of wonders 2 shadow magic, or supreme commander forged alliance.

as they are no longer supporting it with new patches or updated even tho its still not correctly working (see Nightsong quest) i would say no.They do not deserve the money

Isn't faith in destiny good? I played shadow wars and dragon storm; thought I would buy faith in destiny at some point. I liked dragon storm though the additional content (1 new faction and a couple shaikan spells) was rather limited. What's about demons of the past and faith in destiny? Is demons of the past really bugged out of that one quest?
faith in destiny is just to short... 10 hours and done. at least that's what it was for me.

faith in destiny is way too short, it does take around 10 hours and its done...big disapointment

Not. Its not worth. I'm a fan of Spell Force also. But this is not like first game at all. Its made in very wrong way. A lot of things which was brillant in first game, was removed or done in such way that they are not interesting/funny/convenient any more.
You start with lvl 5 (not 1 !!! ) in some city, with some predefined abilities, and weapon. At start there is big battle but you don't command soldiers, its going so automatically, you just need to click on next group of monster. Even not, because soldiers will kill them. Monsters are just staying and fight start when you go closer, its scrypted in really wrong way, its just defined triggers on map, when monsters start attack.
Levelling system and skill system is crap. You dont put point on skills and dont choose any abilities. You choose only "group" of skill which will be activated. Left icon-attack, right icon-defend, or something like that. You cant even activate it before you did not train yourself somewhere, i dont know where.
You can't see from first person perspective, and not horizontal view. So basically you have limited isometric perspective and game lost a lot of fun. And, its inconvenient.
Quest are similar: "kill this, kill that". You dont want even read the brief, its so stupid, and voices are acted in bad way, telling you just like "go there and kill them".
I finished Spell Force game (this very first one), and played a lot of times in the past. But his is different. I was playing in Spell Force 2, i dont know, about 30min, and I give it ♥♥♥♥ up!
