so what actually happened to Level 5?
i'll get to the point: Why did Level 5 almost (or maybe they did) bankrupt their western division after they push to make Yokai into the next pokemon AND made Katrielle Layton an empty shell of the layton brand?

I'm seriously not trolling, I just remember the hoard of yokai games they kept dishing out and Katrielle Layton not being anywhere near as good as the main Layton games. Were those games really all they tried to release and when they didn't take off they instantly gave up on us here in the US?

Can anyone give any more insight? were there some internal problems? Did they really not try to fall back on games that did sell? I remember Fantasy Life on 3ds was amazing but they released it sooooo late in the US that only I and a small group of fantasy life fans actually gave the game a chance if im not mistaken.

Now here we are and this megaton game doesnt even have a physical version in the US. What's going on with Level 5?? Can a Level 5 fan give me some insight?

Yokai games apparently didn't do great outside of Japan, and I'm guessing they were meant as much to push merch as sell games. Level 5 have had very uneven performance outside Japan and seem to keep doubling down on the things least likely to succeed.

Level-5 hasn't really been mainstream in the west since the PS2 days, this is nothing new. Take one look at the list of games they've developed and you'll have your answer. They aren't hiding huge hits from the US, Inazuma and Yokai are what keep them in business Japan.

I wish this game were advertised a bit more, but it's wild to imply Level-5 gave up on western releases on the board for the western release of Megaton Musashi of all things.
