Deathtrap Dungeon

Deathtrap Dungeon

lol
Theyre really churning out the broken oldies of yesteryear! haha.

Whats happening, is there some hipster/retro movement amongst young gamers at highschools these days? Some kind of fad in that they brag about being in the know, for obscure old games that should be forgotten?

As i can assure you, those of us who played and owned some of these games back in the day are like 'good riddence!

Nostalgia sells. Some of us actually enjoyed them.

Maybe Angry Birds is more to your liking?

no its not

Poster made a valid point
I disagree
Therefore Angry Birds

I enjoyed a few of the older games (e.g., System Shock), but the vast majority of these recently re-release games are garbage. In my opinion, that is.

Definately zorgx. There were great games in the late 90's- 2000, the modern age of gaming was taking hold and many real classics came out. Deathtrap Dungeon and Daikatana are not amongst them! :)

Yeah - where are the Bullfrog classics?

My favorite games where the D&D an Buck Rogers turn based rpgs, they should bring those back

This game looks awful. Yes, I know that this was out years ago. If your going to re-release a game at least put some thought into it! I had to comment after seeing how horrible this game looks.

I still have the D&D ones somewhere. Would rebuy if they removed the old book/wheel password protection. :wizard:

I am a 37 year old fart that played this game when it was new, and I can attest to the fact that yes, it did stink. Most of these games did because they were cashing in on early 3D tech. That dark period from 96-98. It wasn't until the fall of 98 that Unreal 1 changed that.

The only ones that used the wheel were Pool of Radiance (And you can disable it with a command line switch) and Curse of the Azure Bonds. The rest used manual codes, which you can find easily online. I could even give you mine because I still own the actual manuals (and games)

I think Hillsfar used the wheel too, but Hillsfar stunk.

@zombiemonk, 1998, 2004, big years in gaming. And perhaps 2007/2008 (games of that time still look graphically decent)

Yeah I dig some of the games. Replaying Baldur's Gate right now but I do think this retro thing is getting out of hand. Seems flooded right now.

I have still my deathtrap dungeon CD here. Back then i played it as a kid and it was too hard for me. So i never made it through the game. Dont really regret it.

They rather should add really diamonds of that time, like Drakan. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending, but awesome gameplay. Not like deahtrap dungeon, where i had the most fun watching the intro.

Same here. Still got the CD-ROM (even brought it out of the dust and is next to me.)

An "old" game that could actually make people happy would be NOX. Too bad Westwood doesn't exist anymore and the game can't be worked on to fit with Steam's servers. (The game multiplayer is managed in a peer-to-peer way while the hosting management is managed by fans as it was previously hosted by Gamespy.)

Another actual really good old game is the Die By The Sword game and especially its expansion. If we could call it something else, it would be the Wii system grand father as you had control of your weapon with the movement of the mouse... and you were able to cut limbs and heads. (They even made the system so that player could create their own attack patterns.)
