This game sucks as a new player.
I've played a lot of p2w stuff, and I know Nutaku is renouwn for it. Still, i'm used to at least being able to enjoy the game for a few days without realizing I am, literally, screwed from advancing.

This is a new low. The mechanics are interesting, the game is amusing. It's not new or groundbreaking, but the rewards for playing are abysmal. Even after making it past the diner, and halfway to the hotel, i've realized I can't progress.

I've got no way to get "bucks" other than the areana, which require me to get lucky enough to beat a random reroll once a day, since anyone that started playing a week ago will beat me.

Without money to upgrade combos, and limited starter resources, you are essentially screwed. It's surprising they went this hard on micro this early tbh.

This is a hard uninstall.

You can play as a new player, even f2p. Of course you start off slow. Don't expect to be top tier without money.

We will agree to disagree. I find this one of the worst versions of this style of game. Animation throwdown (for example), while still hungry for currency, made it possible without feeling punished to have progress. Heck, even several of Nutaku's other games aren't as sharp-cornered as this is.

If they want players to pay, just be upfront about it instead of making it f2p and putting up paywalls. It just feels more frustrating this way.
People prefer to pay for what they perceive to be valuable, instead of feeling forced to pay. That just creates resentment and causes players to uninstall.

Maybe they are looking for whales that start a game by buying stuff right away and don't care if they abandon it later. This is probably what happens to PvP players trying to buy their way to victory. It's like a game of chicken where you see if the other person is willing to spend more than you.

You're right and your complaint probably express the feeling of nearly every player that tries this game without the intent of paying to play it. They should definetly make this game at least a bit more friendly to f2p and low spenders or else the retention rate of new players is going to keep lowering. Two of the three f2p guys I know on this game already quit, even though they were willing to grind.
They should also make the game more enjoyable in general, because I suppose theres no fun for whales as well after they complete their decks with 20 cards (after spending lots of hundreds). The way it is now, the game feels pretty short sighted.

Is there anything in this game actually worth purchasing? IDK something that grants the ability to make progress at a reasonable rate or at least give you something to do?

I have been playing this game for about 55 hours (spread over 3 weeks)
, a little over two days, I admit that I spent 10 dollars on a 3 card combo that has helped me a lot to advance, both in adventure mode, which I am on map 5, and in the league . , league number 7, I have collected 150 thousand in-game money and 250 gems to exchange for 2 x10 card combos and I was disappointed, I won't do it again, I still have fun, but I still get stressed in equal parts, I recommend it ? No, I don't recommend it.

Seems like you spend a hundred bucks and hope that every game you play it draws those cards like the AI you ended up playing against lol
I mean part of me cant believe that some people spend on hundred on everything that comes out but then I wonder why and how? Pretty sure even if you could you would still lose cause like so many other F2P games, the AI has nothing to lose but gets everything.

Sounds like this game is pay to lose instead of P2W like all the other threads claim. Perhaps if a good sale or something comes up I may drop some money just to check it out some more however from a F2P perspective you really have nothing to do and Arena is just banging your head against the wall till you get an opponent that you can actually beat.

The game gets much more tolerable actually after you buy the first two packs, speaking of which are the only cheap ones. They never did sales, so the only cheap cards you can buy are the first futa packs (2$, 10$ and 30$ though the last one has much less value than the previous, since they're both 3 star cards). The rest are at least 50$.

Do the 2, 10, 30 offers come back if you miss them?

Think they got enough of my money already also had I known, I woulda just bought one of the zodiac characters, but yeah not gonna give them $100 after seeing how random the arena can be and also how just because you have a high level card, it doesn't mean you'll draw it like the AI does. Even the events I mean are people really spending $50+ on points to stay in the top 3? lol

I'm not sure about the 2$ one, but the rest is always going to come back. However, if you don't buy them for lots of cycles they might "upgrade" to the next tier, so for example instead of the 30$ offer you get a 50$ one, with the same cards but 4 stars instead of 3.

Yeah, arena is kind of a win-lose situation. You get to attack first, so you will always have the upper hand, but the AI seems to almost always get the best cards of the deck at start. Also, that's true, you need a good deck (by slowly improving it or buying lots of 100$ packs) and buying a single 100$ pack is not going to render you poweful, since they're 3/20 cards.
