SNOW
Consistent Crashing
Ive been playing SNOW for about 3 months with little to no issues. It plays great and is really addictive. The past week however, I have been experiencing crahing issues where the music keeps playing and the SFX continue but nothing happens until the crash window pops up. In the beginning it used to happen after about 15 mins of play time but now as soon as i move when i select a drop point it crashes. Is anyone else experiencing this issue??

I've been crashing a lot myself and my computer is way above specs. I thought it might've been the computer but there's no way cause I run plenty of other games fine.:steamsad:

Same here

I haven't had any issues but some people fixed many problems by upgrading their GPU drivers. Are yours up-to-date?
Magnizzle Mar 8, 2016 @ 10:04am
Same here :(
Drivers up to date. Game keeps crashing all the time.
But I am also interested how to get rid of the crashes.

I've installed the game for the first time yesterday. Started up the game. It asks me to start the tutorial, but as soon as I click yes, the game freezes. The soundtrack keeps playing, just like OP. I can't shut down the game using task manager, the process won't go away and the only way to exit and try again is to do a reboot. Everytime the actual gameplay starts, it freezes. I've tried skipping the tutorial, didn't work. I have tried loading another map, didn't work.
I hope this gets fixed soon, I've seen Hat Films play it in their video, the game looks nice and I'd like to try it with my friends but I wanted to see it for myself first before recommending it to my friends.
PC specs, maybe this helps
Asus X99-S, i7 5820K, 16GB DDR4
Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming (on the latest driver 362.00)

Try to verify the game cache
Magnizzle Mar 21, 2016 @ 3:54pm
Verified cache multiple times but game keeps crashing every 10-30 min.
What about a dmp file or crash report? Can it tell me what is happening?
LennertK Mar 23, 2016 @ 12:56pm
I've tried verifying the cache and reinstalling the game multiple times, and the game has worked about two times right after doing one of those things (when it worked, it didn't seem to crash randomly for me, I think I have played a whole hour without having it crash).
Usually it crashes as soon as the gameplay starts.
Magnizzle Mar 23, 2016 @ 12:59pm
I have also reinstalled and verified cache many times.
First it looked fine but it just crashed again. My FPS were also very low today...

Might this be helpful?

When I saw there was an update I had some hope again, started up the game... But it still crashes. I've tried verifying the cache again, but that didn't help. If the devs need any more information like log files or other variables that may cause this I'm happy to help.

I have also been experiencing seemingly random crashes of exactly the same nature. My specs are way way above recommended

i7 6700k @ 4.7
980ti WaterForce
16 Gb ddr4

So I have no idea why. There is no pattern as far as I can tell, sometimes it crashes after 30 seconds, sometimes 30 minutes. But it always crashes. I've never played this game without a crash.
dfg Mar 31, 2016 @ 7:14pm
I had almost exactly the same problem as the OP except the crash window would never pop up. The game.log file had a CRITICAL EXCEPTION in it each time but it never generated an error.dmp or error.log.

I started uploading my files to a Dropbox folder (earliest is Feb 7 2016) and I emailed the dev with the link (rather than sending them the files each time). I got limited but positive feedback from them, which was encouraging.

Now with this update, I've had only a single lockup/crash, during an alt-tab. In fact, the day of the update I booted up the game but then fell asleep and it ran for 10 hours without crashing, although just with a motionless skier—my crashes almost always occurred right after starting from a drop point.

edit: Had to jinx it =( altho it seems to be more limited to certain areas so far.

Let us know about your game crash by sending information over to us:

Windows: Send error.dmp
Linux: Send backtrace.log

If you can't attach the files here, send them to filip@poppermost.se.

Keep in mind that we can't fix crashes without reproducing them locally or getting the information above. Unfortunately thr majority of users don't provide the information we need to fix, and still ask why a problem is still present.

What if it locks up and we have to forcequit and it doesn't generate an error.dmp ? My game.log is the only file that "updates" in this situation.

In that case we'll need as much information as possible on what you were doing from game start to the game freezing, in addition to information on your hardware and software specs.
