Those dudes showed up when they saw that, were disappointed, and thus left their input.
If you blame anyone, blame Valve for not having a tag for extract/PVPVE games. It's the least of DB's concerns, though.
It's a good game at its core. The reviews are probably about one of the below:
-It seems to be having an identity crisis as to what it wants to be.
-It has had some balance issues to the point of making the game borderline unplayable if you didn't stick to the meta. These went on unaddressed for too long, only to receive a slap in the wrist, if at all.
-Matchmaking issues. You mentioned Dark & Darker. Imagine if it lumped in high roller, squire and anything in between geared players in the same session. This game will, on occassion.
-Lack of communication, ignoring common player feedback on obvious issues, or even going in the opposite direction against it.
-These issues and some others led to player numbers dropping rapidly. In response, they shut down servers for some regions. Players who were on those, got frustrated with the ping.
- matchmaking was never really working, therefor people with far higher gear farming new players in casual without any chance
- pve is ignored by the majority of players and the game is reduced to battle royale where everyone is rushing to just kill
- spawnpoints unfair, you can jump from castle roof onto player spawning right below you
- heavy imbalances for weeks (literally one class dominating everyone else)
- statsystem obscure and no explaination ingame
- Priest with 2% pick rate never changed, basically unwanted class
- people teaming and not getting banned
- cheaters
- botting
- anticheat banning linux users
- "weird" events, some call it p2w (already stopped playing before this, no idea)
- and more
Basically the game has a good core but the devs were far too slow and never listened to the actual community. They only used metrics for balance reasons and that backfired quite hard. Many of the things that people disliked could have been fixed easily in the first 4 weeks but hey here we are.
That's why people are mad lol, such an easy and addicting gameplay loop and they fked it.
Gotta be a troll. No-one is this entitled are they? Being able to play a game for free with limitations is a scam? No-one tell him about game demos.
As demo? so why they didn't list it as demo then? What i readed reviews DND would have over 80% postive but some people as me also didn't liked that move. It's even better hidden in game, you see no $ at first glance but then you see that you have to use crystals to unlock "Legendaty edition" that schould be names Standard Edition and this what we have for for free is or Starter Edition or Demo, things that schould be free are remaining player to pay 30$ for them, fogot to mention that you can buy 5$,10$,15$ Crustals, but you need 30$ of worth of them. For me it's intentional play to get most players into game and then they have decision if they want to pay 30$, stick to this light version or change game.
While certainly something had to be done with matchmaking, lately even the elite players of Demon Hunter rank or so are entering game with black/grey gear and wrecking people still, lmfao. It's not something that will change even with the pre-season patch.
So that is why the game is hated. People going in and losing their stuff, then crying about it. Game is shaping up to be a lot of fun, especially with those pre-season changes coming up.
People want to be rewarded without deserving it, just because they played the game. If they die to PvE, at some point they start to call things unfair, but when you add the ego of dying in PvP instead of gaining their participation medal, things get really worse.
But the 36% is exagerated because devs removed SA servers and took too long to balance DK and Cryo, and fix Life on Hit status.
The devs is only listening to the streamers and the decisions they make is to make sure they're happy. That's why the game is dying so fast! All the bigger streamers left because they knew! Bad balance, rich people getting more rich and there is NO new players! There are plenty more stuff but the foundation of the game is soooo BAD.
