Technical FAQ & Fixes

1. Q: My game crashes when launching. I can't even see the login page!

A: Open File Explorer, and enter the following address:
%LocalAppData%/Dungeonborne/Saved

In the file folder, delete the file that ends with "upipelinecache"

Close the File Explorer and try re-launch the game.

2. Q: The game crashes and show "Error [1223], Anti-Cheat Initialization failed"

A: On some PC, Windows will ask for administrator permission before launching the game. If you've refused, this error may be present when launching the game.

Please launch the game, and click "YES" on the "Do you want to allow this App to make changes to your device" User Account Control Pop-up.

3. Q: Game crashes mid-game, showing "Fatal Error" message.

A: The reason for this error may vary depending on your hardware specs, but most likely due to CPU P-core ratio (for Intel 12th gen CPU or above), or Memory overflow.

One possible solution is to download the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility tool and tune down the CPU Performance Core Ratio.

4. Q: Game stuck at the Loading screen. Unable/Takes very long to load into games.

A: There may be an issue when the game goes to write logs to existing log files. A temporary fix is to just delete all log files and force the game to generate a new file, which is usually faster than opening existing files.

Deleting the log files in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Dungeonborne\Saved\Logs. Relaunching the game might generate another log file, making the game not load. Make sure there is only one save log file in the folder.

5. Q: I can't capture and stream the game with OBS. It shows a black screen.

A: First, please make sure you are running both Dungeonborne and OBS as Admin.
Every player has different preferred OBS settings, try configure and change your Capture Method and Window Match Priority settings to see if it is fixed.

6. Q: I always inspect my weapon when moving forward!

A: Your in-game setting is not compatible with the settings from the previous playtest.
Try restoring to default settings. And then restart the game.

Q: 7. I'm using an Intel 13th/14th Gen K/KF/KS series processor and experiencing issues like memory errors, client crashes, or shader decompression failures.

A: The problem seems to be caused by a combination of BIOS settings and the high clock rates and power usage of these processors, leading to system instability and unpredictable behavior under heavy load, causing crashes in games built with Unreal.

8. Q: I'm experiencing heavy frame drops/stuttering during gameplay.

A: There are several options to solve this issue:

• Delete the following files or directories: %LocalAppData%\Dungeonborne\Saved\Dungeonborne_PCD3D_SM6.upipelinecache
  %LocalAppData%\D3DSCache
  %LocalAppData%\NVIDIA\DXCache
  %APPDATA%..\LocalLow\NVIDIA\PerDriverVersion\DXCache
  
• Disabling "USB Selective Suspend Setting" in the Power Options of the Control Panel:
  
• Try turning off/on "Hardware Accelerated Scheduling"

9. Q: I'm having "Error code Line:345" when launching the game.

A: Try forcing the game to launch with DirectX11 in Steam game properties -> Launch options

I have an issue that can't kill the process even in the task manager. I found some same issues as me at the community discussion.

+ I didn't have this issue when i played this game at steam game fest demo. This issue appeared to me from final beta.

Unable to play due to "Fatal Error". And it’s unknown how to fix it

I am not able to play due to "Fatal Error" when launching the game. I've posted all the information on Discord technical help channel and have minidump files to send devs if needed. Can we get dev attention in technical help section of discord please? There are way too many people having issues with the game even on high end systems.

For the record I have done all of the usual troubleshooting steps including those pointed out in the original post here, the p-core fix is not fixing this particular fatal error and it is new with today's patch. Please fix. I and others are unable to play this game.

just got the "fatal error" crash while in game was fighting one of the ghost ladies.

Anyone figure out a fix for this? facing the same issue. I'm not down to play a game that forces a reboot every time I want to play.

Got stuck 'in combat' after a round with friends, could not go for another. Tried to log off, game won't close completely, can not kill process in task manager, and steam can not get it to stop.

when a pure gaming system is designed to fully optimise the game play and output full graphics and the best FPS etc, the system kicks you out and tells you to remove the optimisations running, this is slightly difficult when BIOS contains the CPU optimisations and i cannot turn anything more off without causing windows to fail. any game using the ACE system has same issue. whats the point in paying £3000 + for a gaming system to have it not play games due to an anti cheat system that cant tell if its a cheat or if it is a genuine system designed to fully optimise games.
this is now the 2nd game I've come across with this system and always crashes 5 mins into playing. what a waste of time
