Both are free to try, so you can play a little bit of both and see which you like more.

And then delete Dark and Darker when you realize that devs are manipulating you into paying $30 for basic game features
This is better in most ways.

A better experience for the reasonable price of: free.

Imagine whining about being "manipulated" into buying Legendary. God forbid the devs make money.

More-or-less is manipulation.

You get a single character, if you dislike it, trying another one requires deleting ALL of your progress. It's obvious why they did what they did, just as it's obvious why DB prices their premium currency the way they do. Acting like it's for any other purpose is just dishonesty.

This, dark and darker gonna get worse and worse... from EA to now it just went downhill.

But that's just an opinion.

Both games have a balancing issues, but at least you're not getting 1shot in here.
Also this is going to get some huge updates in the next weeks.

Dark and Darker loves to remove content like RUINS. And also loves having a stealth class without stealth, because it annoys people.

This game makes invis more like a camo.. you CAN still see them, but NPCs won't attack a stealthed character.
Actually possible to sneak around and loot chests. Something that Dark and Darker doesn't want for your rogue.

Also no locked chests, g o d da m n I hate locked chests.

dark and darker has it's own interesting game mechanics that in my opinion this game lacks. there's no smacking people with lute's in this game, classes are boiled down some only having two abilities at most, and builds are limited compared to d&d. dark and darker has it's own jaynk, don't get me wrong, but i think it actually benefits d&d more than hinders it. dark and darker is much less beginner friendly, and takes some getting used to, but i think my average session of dark and darker ends up feeling more rewarding than dungeonborne. i just really enjoy the level of customization d&d has with it's perks, spells, weapon & armor variety, skills, and even races. multiclassing has been a confirmed future feature, with a talent tree aswell, an aquatic map, player-housing, guilds.. etc. with more classes like sorcerer, monk, and tinkerer being worked on too

overall i think it's a really good time to be a dark and darker player right now but hopefully this game gives ironmace a fair level of competition to compete with in terms of title for the better game but hopefully both games succeed, as i believe that someone that likes abilities working similar to a game like league or overwatch would enjoy this game over d&d, but i feel like dark and darker in a few years will be the fantasy loot game with races, classes, builds etc that we've all been wanting for the last few years

Problem with saying "builds are limited" is that they're limited in D&D as well, since only a few perks of each class are genuinely viable for solid builds. Illusion of choice. The numbers are way too tight to do anything interesting.

When/If DaD grab some of the QOL featured in this game (less messy stat window, compare items via tooltip, open full map, less annoying inventory, etc) i would play it over this one.

The problem for me here is that DB is very simple for now (not that many skills, classes, weapon). But in the long run, i see it in a better place.
