Why does the game ask for Administrator Permission to open?
I've been wondering about this.
To be honest, why does Dungeonborne need Admin Permission while ALL other games that have been created prior to it don't?

Plus, it doesn't even have an external launcher...

What does the game do in the background that i don't know?
I'm pretty sure that something like a Videogame should NOT be able to modify my OS to it's likings or scan files and folders that are not relevant to it's structure, and i'm not saying that Dungeonborne does, i'm only saying that it's developers abilitate it to do so...
But why is that?

The game uses an aggressive anti-cheat solution. It's up to the player to choose whether or not they are comfortable with that. It's not going to change.

What do you mean with "aggressive" and what is the risk?

Aggressive as in it requires deep access to your computer, down to kernel level. Which is why it needs admin rights. The risk is down to whether or not you trust the developers to not do evil things with the access you are giving them. In theory they could do all kinds of shady stuff and it would take people a good while to figure out that it was happening. In practice, they have very little reason to do so, and a whole lot to lose if they got caught at it.

But it's a legitimate concern to have, and a valid reason to choose not to play the game. Personally I'm fine with it.

The more acces any anti-cheat system has the better it can ban cheaters and identify potential exploits. For example it protects even against lag exploits, like people use on consoles a lot. I found out by playing on a poor Internet connection of my phone hot-spot. It kills you instantly and disconnected from server. Wich I personally aprove of as it will me the game more or less cheat free. As creating a exploit/cheat is so much easier and cheaper then combatting them.
