Teaming in solos isnt reportable
The preview literally shows a melee and mage working together, then the melee stabbing the mage in the back.

Players can choose to attack, or befriend, randoms they meet, and this is intended gameplay.

In game, if you go to menu, support, it will bring up a new page. On this page, go to penalty/report, what are the in-game violations, and it will say
Dear Dungeon delvers,
Common violations include, but are not limited to:
● Impersonating official staff members;
● Using third-party cheats;
● Insulting behavior towards other players;
● Buying and selling accounts and sharing game accounts;
● Abusing refunds;
● Deliberately exploiting game bugs;
● Encouraging others to violate regulations;
● Asking for -- or providing personal contact information;
● Abusing the chat system to send advertisements, sell accounts (sending spam information), and commit fraud;
● Malicious teaming, intentionally harming teammates, hitching rides ("Boosting"), idling, and other malicious gaming behaviors.
In order to create a good gaming environment and protect the security of your account, please do not engage in the aforementioned violations while playing the game.
We hope the above information is helpful to you, and we appreciate your support for Dungeonborne once again!

Malicious teaming is a reportable offense, aka teaming against other players.

Malicious teaming means killing your teamates, not grouping with randos.

Hopefully this clears up any confusion!

That's under the second listing of the last bullet, not the first one. The term teaming has also always meant people from different groups working together, in this case, to group on others.

Hm -- I dunno. I think better language could be used.

So, my thought process is:

Malicious: This adjective suggests intent to harm, injure, or cause negative outcomes for others. In the gaming context, it refers to actions taken with the purpose of damaging other players' experiences, as opposed to competitive but fair play.

Teaming: In multiplayer online games, teaming usually refers to the act of players working together towards a common goal. This can be part of the game's design, such as in team-based matches, or it can happen informally when players decide to collaborate for mutual benefit in games that do not explicitly assign teams.

So, putting these together, "malicious teaming" likely refers to players forming teams or alliances specifically to harass, cheat, unfairly disadvantage, or harm other players or specific groups of players. This could manifest in several ways, such as:
  • Forming unofficial alliances in solo or free-for-all game modes to gang up on individual players, which disrupts the intended balance and fairness of the game.
  • Using team strategies that exploit game mechanics or bugs in a way that ruins the game play experience for others.
  • Coordinating actions across different accounts or teams to control game outcomes, manipulate rankings, or exclude certain players from being able to compete on a fair footing.

could it be just teaming though? I dunno... it would just say teaming.

The specific term "malicious teaming" suggests that the game's developers or community managers are distinguishing between teaming that is harmful or intended to disrupt the game ("malicious") and teaming that is part of normal, intended gameplay.

However, by prefixing "teaming" with "malicious," the focus is placed on the intent and outcome of such behavior. It's not teaming in general that's being discouraged or penalized in this language used, but specifically teaming that aims to ruin the experience for others, exploit the game in unintended ways, or unfairly disadvantage players who are not part of such teams. It could be several things. The language used does leave one wondering.

In environments where solo play or competition on equal footing is expected (such as solo battle royale modes or free-for-all dungeons), any form of teaming might be viewed negatively because it alters the fundamental dynamics of the game. Yet, the use of "malicious" implies that there's a particular concern over teaming that goes beyond mere cooperation among players, focusing on actions designed to harm the game experience for others.

So, while "malicious teaming" could be interpreted in a context where any unsanctioned teaming is against the rules, the specific wording suggests a narrower focus on the harmful impacts of such behavior rather than a blanket prohibition on all forms of player cooperation.

But, I could be wrong.

irony. its not a reportable offense, thus nobody has been banned for it, nor will they.

maybe crouch spam and work cooperatively with people you meet, then maybe stab them in the back later, or work with them to kill others. thats literally how the game works.

I don't inherently disagree. But if the game lets you... Then... Maybe?

I suppose sake of clarity. Can you provide examples of what malicious teaming is vs regular teaming, vs not teaming at all, particularly in solos.

Perhaps it applies more directly with trios and finding players to match with and someone just getting loot greedy, you're in a team and you're using a person directly as a means for loot.

But I think focusing on solos and the idea of malicious teaming is the main topic.
Had 3 mages team up on me, killed them all because they blew themselves up on accident lol.

sure no problem.

malicious teaming - joining a random team and immediately killing your teamates after spawning.

regular gameplay - solos cooperating for any reason

The dev are just too lazy to put the option = No PVP, or a mode for that. I suggested to them to make an option for this and I seen many agree with that. And also another option : Lose only loot not equiped. I was happy to play a game like Diablo&Skyrim but been sad to see again, another hating game pushing players to kill each other and this encourage bullies. Scuse my english, but I'm not sorry to say the games of royal battle are full of toxic people. 2 times, players invited me in their team of lower level and stabbed me. I try to be friendly with others but It is like talking about economy with monkeys.
