There is already a solo queue. I play solo all the time.
But how do they manage old players ganking new players just getting started? Sounds like it could be a mess.
The map is huge. It is rather easy to avoid other player.
Cheap is debatable. It does several things better. Some worse.
And DaD is not an original. The spiritual predecessor is a chivalry mod from 2015. Than there was P3. Assets were bought on he Unreal marketplace. But it deserves credit for paving the way
Level design is way above all that DaD has to offer. Not even talking about the forced map rotation.
QoL - that DaD doesn't even have. You still have to watch text scroll in real time to buy things as if you were stuck in the 90s.
Netcode is better - DaD has ducktaped their codebase which sdf even admits. They are working on it but for now it just doesn't run well.
Parry & Thrust instead of just footwork as if you are playing a turn based game.
I have to admit combat still feels a little bit more satisfying and the sound is also better in DaD. To be fair both games suck combat wise. I'd love Chivalry-esque combat.
I give you that - class design is much better over there.
QoL can be given to DB but not to an extreme amount.
Netcode, I can't really comment on, as I've not enough experience with DB.
I can give the parry and thrust to DB but dodging is better, in DaD. AI enemy engagement I'd give to DaD, as well, as they feel better to fight. I'd say this is more of a tie.
Class design is definitely better built, though starting gear would be given to DB.
All in all, I'd rate them pretty near each other, but I'd give it to DaD, just because I enjoy the art style and atmosphere better.
