The biggest point of contention with the PvP enthusiasts is precisely this, though. They KNOW if given the chance, the vast majority of players would stick to PvE, so if the two modes are separate and the characters can't coexist in a session, they'll be stuck with dwindling numbers and it'll eventually die out. This happens in every game where PvP is an option and not the default, yet they still insist that it's the popular mode.
The other game that dropped a demo like this, Dungeonborne, has this exact same conversation going on their forums, which just shows that there IS a legitimate interest in this kind of gameplay without the PvE elements.
It doesn't, and not everything is PVP.
It's being designed as a PVPVE game and if you want PVE only then you need to go somewhere else. Not every game, movie, book, concert, or piece of art will appeal to everyone. You don't go watch Die Hard or Robo Cop if you want a sappy romance movie, and you don't expect those films to BECOME a sappy romance movie just because that's what YOU want to see - you go watch Sleepless in Seattle instead. If a game isn't what you want - go play a different game.
There are plenty of relaxing PVE only games out there for you. Thousands, in fact, but you aren't going to find what you want here if that's what you want. Stop looking for corn in the apple orchard, mate.
Restricting gear levels to different lobbies could allow for grinding for better loot, slowly. This said, literally same thing can happen from someone who just so happened to get lucky with spawns. I get some better gear and then get steam rolled by someone who brought in max gear, what then? The only real difference is when you want to take the increased risk for potentially better gear.
Btw, I'm not saying that they should allow for shared loots between the two mode, it's a more opinionated thing. Each one would promote different play methods. The part a. thing, that's a reasonable concern and might cause some problems, potentially major ones, at that. Though, skewing the loot %'s could potentially help with that, but I'm not sure, there. Encourage more skilled players to risk pvp deaths for faster gear increases.
Probably for the same reason you ignore the "single player" part in the store page, and why it seems like everyone also ignores the fact that there's already a non-pvpve mode in the game.
Ja, it seems like everyone just wants to bully others, in this game, and most any pvp game that has some sort of communication between teams.
