You die way too quick and things hit way too hard
Dying in like 2 hits from a skeleton, and 1 hit from SLIGHTLY bigger enemies is insane. I'm decent at extraction games but this one seems outright unfair, so far everyone I've spoken to hasn't even seen an escape portal (a tiny missable thing on the floor apparently.) let alone actually survive long enough to actually get loot. Even the 'tanky' class dies in a couple hits. And no, I'm not just standing there letting things hit me, but it DOES eventually happen, and with how awful healing items are in the game, it honestly just feels like a bad joke.

Hmm had my first game just now. Spawned and walked around. Killed some Gobos aund Zombies, meet a other player, made friends and went through the castle a bit more. Zone came a bit close and i lost the other guy out of sight and saw a shiny blue glow.

That was the portal you gotta activate. Luckily the Tree could not reach me to attack me and i extracted :)

Tbf its kinda fun so far, but didnt go against big bosses yet as i got starter gear xD

Currently, my runs have ended in 1 of 3 ways. Most common was being killed by a player that wouldn't communicate back, then there was the single time I spawned in an area and was nearly immediately trapped in that area by the circle, had to run through it, causing a lot of mobs to agro, and lastly was the single time I spawned with a giant hog infront of me. Got half health tapped by it, then killed it just to get sniped by a gobbo. Never saw anything blue, at all.

I will agree that the damage is a bit high, it almost feels as if your meant to either be running past everything or walking around with a priest in your team. Its definitely doable without those things, but its less enjoyable and much more stressful.

Yeah it's not unplayable, but it's far too 'hardcore' I suppose you could say. Everything takes forever to kill and you take no time at all to die, so every minor encounter is a massive slog. I like the idea of needing to take every combat encounter seriously, but when there's SO MANY mobs, and the very high chance of an annoying rogue backstabbing you mid fight (countless times this has happened), it's just too much for me honestly. Out of the two, I think Dungeon Stalkers is more for me, despite the fact it's heavily anime, at least you don't die in a few hits and actually stand a chance at finding the escape.

The enemy moves are incredibly telegraphed (which is good) the issue is the hit boxes are disgustingly bad (mainly on the Z axis).

This creates a system of "the floor is lava" so instead of skillfully subverting enemies, you are forced to just back off.

TL:DR - Enemy damage isn't the issue. Its trash hit boxes.

Honestly, and I don't mean to sound like I'm brushing off your criticisms, repetition is key. Attacks are slow and the more you see them the less likely you'll be to get hit by them. You will learn to just walk around enemy attacks and only players will be a worry.

May I ask which extraction games you played ? Because out of all I played PvE mobs here are the most trivial. DaD is a whole other level. And there are so many portals that you always find one unlike in DaD.

As someone who's played DaD for 10 total days, I find that game easier, as far as non-pvp is concerned. Not 240 hours, just 10 different days, for prolonged amounts of time.

Okay so you guys aren't really getting my point. My issue isn't the attacks, the attacks ARE super easy to dodge, but that doesn't mean you can't or won't get caught mid animation and take a hit. The issue is the absurd damage and the sheer amount of mobs. Blocking with a shield still makes you take damage, every enemy is a sponge and honestly a waste of time. And the repetition of having to run in, do a single hit or two, then run back and wait for an attack is mind numbingly boring. But that's just PVE, in these games PVP is supposed to shine. And it just doesn't, it's awful. Classes are unbalanced as hell, hitboxes are scuffed and the loot feels meaningless. Got a new weapon? Cool, everything still takes forever to kill. Got a new piece of armour? Cool, you'll still die in the same amount of hits. The game honestly feels like a cheap (albeit a very pretty) cash grab on the extraction trend. Everything LOOKS pretty, and the systems SEEM really good, the classes SOUND really neat, but the execution on everything is dreadful.

I mean a weapon upgrade from green to blue can be like 30-40% extra damage and an upgrade in armour for defensive classes can be like 10% or more damage reduction, even more with sockets and good rolls. And you CAN get hit mid animation and it WILL hurt if you don't have well statted gear but it wouldn't be much of a game if you couldn't get hit and it didn't do much if you did without investing in defensive spec gear. And blocking with a shield DOES take damage if you don't have a purple shield... But it's 3-5% damage.

I can't really imagine asking for more damage than that out of a single tier of weapon upgrade, or more armour than that for a single piece of armour, or for shields to take even less than 3% damage, or complaining that i can be hit if I make mistakes and that it will hurt if I do. This wouldn't really be a game at all if we were getting double damage per tier and 20% DR per piece and getting hit was near impossible and didn't hurt much if you did.

Dude, I've not even found a tier past green. Never found good gear that makes a difference, not that it would matter anyway because I've never even escaped. Found the portal finally once, we were all standing at it ready to leave, and it only took one of us, and left two of us to find another portal. And I'm not saying the upgrades need to make AMAZING difference, I just want you to not start as a useless POS. Especially when you're put against people who kill you EXTREMELY quickly, whether it's due to imbalance or terrible matchmaking, idk. But I do know this game won't go anywhere in it's current state, not for the average player at least. Entry level is far too high, meaning that the average person won't want to smash their head against this bland brick wall trying to get to the point where the game gets good and "fair".

It's both the lack of MMR and the bad balance of the PVP, with the added aspect of poor balance with the in-game Economy. It's a demo though so it's to be expected I guess, but things seriously need to change if they want to release EA and definitely for official release.
