Sad ripoff of Dark and Darker

Game is unoriginal and just a copy of dark and darker. Very little inonovation, poor optimization, and just overtly copying from Dark and Darker.

Dark and Darker has suffered from a noticeable decline in quality for a while now.

They deserve credit for proving that games like these can work, but they aren't entitled to being the only ones allowed to make games of that sort.

You're wilin if you think it's a 1 to 1 copy though.
They play very differently despite adhering to the same basic idea.

You do know that every game is a ripoff of another game in one form or another, it's been like that for 40+ years. Guess you're too young to remember the original video games that came out in the 70s and 80s.

idk.. i gave it a chance. the skills between characters offer no synergy for team play. they do not mesh together well at all. the movement is slow, the camera is janky, the loot is insanely basic, the map looks good though, too bad super cramped corridors make spin to win classes op. casters genuinely are underpowered unless you have the best gear, even then, a guy with common gear catches a caster offguard with good gear, hes still dead in less than two seconds. other than that, bosses have too much health and too little diversity with combat mechanics and spam the same move over and over, bandages and potions heal too much and simultaneously cost too much. no duos map. idk, i feel like i could go on and on. also, it is a blatant copy of dark and darker, not that that matters, but also those saying DaD is in a bad state are out of their minds... its a much much much better game than when it first launched

straight up rip off with no balance between classes or synergies its just bad deaths always feel cheap like there was nothing you could do different to win the fight its just bad and trying to cash in on dark and darkers absence from steam 100%

Thing is it didn't even attempt to change the formula, aesthetic, gameplay etc at all. Just looks like they copy pasted the game over

People like you triggers me alot, i like alot D&D, i have 300+ hours on it, but it suffers in so many aspects which this game has to offer which is all the QoL stuff to spend the cash and buy the gear right away to play again, while in D&D u spend 30 mins or 1 hour to get the gear above decent to do the run you want to do without mindless jumping in with starter gear.

Ur WHINING in balance when D&D always had big balance issues, want me to name a few ? rogue one shotting everyone, rangers triple shot, fighters 95% phyc dmg reduction, warlocks immortal vampires, do you need more ? clerics one shotting with locust swarm and smites, do you need more.. ? should i talk about the bards ? i can keep going on listing completely unbalanced stuff.

THIS game is on ALPHA playtest and ur whining on balancing.

They are trying to enter in the market on this genre and thats great, there is nothing wrong on it. if you go in that way, CS is a copy of quake, since quake was one of the first fps multiplayer coming out.

A copy of something isn't bad, sometimes the copy is better than the original.
I'm not saying this one is better than the original, but it's going in a very good way to become better than the original.

Better in every way? While I'm not done with giving this game a chance, I'm currently on DaD's side, here. It's more fun, looks better, feels better, and the mobs aren't just "revolve around them and win." The attacks look awful, too, honestly.

and ? i dident get your point its and extraction game like anyothers, all of the games copy paste the other games, as long as its works and fun why should ppl care about it ?

If the case was dismissed as being frivolous in August 2023 ( four months after the lawsuit was filed ) then why isn't Dark and Darker back on Steam?

The case isn't over, the part that ended was Nexon trying to make Dark and Darker stop the game, itself. It's going into the actual case where Nexon has to prove their case. The courts, in America, waved it, but in South Korea, it's still going. The thing is, as of right now, the court system seems to be siding with Ironmace, devs of Dark and Darker. As to why it's still off steam, I'm not entirely sure, but it could be due to steam not wanting to be connected to that whole thing, especially if the courts find Ironmace guilty, since people generally jump onto the accused before a decision is even made.
