It should be a session-based cookie. Can you try to log out of steam ? That might reset it.

Right? I'm used to how everything works on the Internet, with all the marketing consent stuff... so I always uncheck all boxes and check only the ones that are required.

Well, I guess it's one of the reason the demo exists - to fix issues with the game. If a mistake in the legal agreement window leads to an indefinite ban, then it's one of the issues to be fixed.

Tip for the devs: I searched to see if there was a solution for this, but if the only solution is going through your discord or figuring out how to contact one of your devs, it's not worth the hassle. I'm going to uninstall the demo and forget about your game forever, so you may want to change that EULA screen before too many other folks do the same.

I picked a random date just to get past that screen. Now it tells me "You are not eligible for this service". Reinstall didnt fix it. Be careful when you launch the demo, if you mess up your birthdate entry you will be punished for it. All data submitted to Mithril Interactive must be 100% valid and if found inaccurate they kidnap your goldfish.

This age verification is unbelievably asinine.

Let me get this straight, you add an age validation to the EULA screen, that most people including myself blast through. No confirmation message. And with a wrong date the user's steamID is permanently locked out unless they reach out to the devs for a manual override.

In what world could this ever be good for business? I'm not even bothered I can't play. I'm just astounded at the poor UX design of this system. Big yikes.

So, to sum up, some people refused to answer a simple very common question correctly and thus got locked out for it.

Lesson learned hopefully.
