Demo Review
After playing this demo for about 1 and 1/2 hours I can positively say that there are some things this does very well and some things that it greatly needs to improve on. Overall, I thought movement was decent and the graphics were beautiful and established a fantastic environmental atmosphere much like what I believe to be its inspiration, Resident Evil. At the start of the demo, you are handed a pickaxe, what I assume to be a 1911, and a side-by-side shotgun. This game definitely adopts Resident Evils’ ethos of providing ammo, yet all of the enemies are complete bullet sponges rendering the firearms almost useless. My first time playing this demo I tried to run and gun and kill every monster I came across, however I quickly ran out of ammunition and realized that that was not the solution to the game and that if I was going to beat the game I would have to rely more heavily on the pickaxe. I thought the controls and accessibility of this demo were very good and I had virtually no bugs or issues while playing it. However, I wish they added a blocking feature to the pickaxe, potentially pressing the right mouse button raising the pickaxe up in a shield defensive way. During my time playing, it felt like the game was trying to steer me towards creeping around and killing the creatures with the pickaxe. However, when they inevitably fight back, you are left with zero options in terms of block and defense. I think if they added a blocking feature, it would increase the overall immersion of the game and make the combat more enjoyable. I like the fact that there was relatively little music and just atmospheric sounds. This added to the spooky atmosphere and created an enjoyable experience. I think that the time between swings on the pickaxe should be decreased because it felt a little laggy when in combat. This lag definitely contributed significantly to the overall clunky feeling of the combat, which is why I think if this lag time was reduced, it would greatly improve the feel of the combat. The other thing I noticed was that the bandages in this game are almost useless, as they only provide up to three bars of health, which basically means that your style of playing this game should be to make sure you do not get hit at all and avoid combat where possible. Finally, the big strategy I noticed with this game is to creep around stealthily and primarily take out the loan creatures with the pickaxe while dealing with the hordes with the shotgun or the 1911. Overall, while I did think this demo was at times rage inducing, I thought it was very well executed and very heavily reminds me of Resident Evil 7 Biohazard. I'm excited to see where this title goes and I do hope they implement features that will separate it from its inspiration, and if they do, I think this will be a fantastic horror title for anyone to add to their collections!

I pretty much agree with your review and it's well written. But brother, at first I didn't want to bother reading a wall of text.

Don't they teach about paragraphs in school anymore?

This isn't an attack rather a constructive suggestion friend!
