V 0.7.0 - The Endlessly Replayable Patch!

Forget everything you thought you knew about Gorgon Shield! ( Which admittedly wouldn't be much as not many you have played the demo yet. ). Everything changes in this major patch.

Just in time for the big Steam Endlessly Replayable Festival, the new v0.7.0 update brings a ton of sweeping changes and improvements to the game. From the pacing of tower levels, to the displaying of stats, to UI improvements, this version of the game is very close in look at feel to what we'll see in the big July launch.

With just a few months until launch, the game is very nearly complete. From here on in, its all about balancing, bugfixing, improving systems and of course adding in the remaining tower sections 'Ramparts', 'Arena' and 'Pipes'.

Full change list for v0.7.0

Each level now lasts for 30 seconds, up from 20
Hero Slot unlock levels have been changed to 8 (2 heroes) 16 (3 heroes) and 24 ( 4 heroes , not in demo )
The Wizard is now available as soon as you unlock the second hero slot in the tower ( and appears again for the fourth slot )
First hero is now FREE when you unlock the tavern
Completely redesigned the Forked Path screen to show the player useful information
Monster Cards now appear on each level to show you enemy monster stats
Level Up screen has been redesigned - power deck has been removed
Monsters now have different spawn rates and movement speeds
Removed LUCK, MELEE RADIUS and RANGED RADIUS as stats in the game.
Improved tutorial with guiding arrows and more information
Better randomization of Tower Forked Paths
Added Japanese Language Support
Improved visuals on Gorgon Shield's damage circle, lens flare layer, particles etc
Fixed a bug where ranged projectiles exploded before reaching their target
Fixed hit area on Tower button in Destinations Menu
Added animation tweens to many game panels
Heaps of other random things I've forgotten to document here in the patch notes!

Greetings, mighty heroes! Been a little while since the last update for Gorgon Shield, but the game is nearing completion.

It's been nearly a year since I started work on this game - what I thought would be a 3-4 month journey has lasted nearly a year, and it's definitely not been without its challenges. For many reasons this has been one of the harder games I've worked on, design-wise, concept wise, external factors. Stepping out of the Swords and Sandals bubble is always a challenge but I think to better myself as a game dev, its important to be able to build non S&S games - to keep my skills up and my mind sharp.

A lot of good stuff in 0.6, including new Level Quests, Warp Mirrors (these are for the full version so you won't see them yet), Forked Paths, new monster patterns and a lot of other good stuff.

Added in Chinese Language Support - thank you to new co-publisher GamerSky Games.
User save game data has been reset and moved to a new save directory in prep for final launch, so any progress (as well as game settings) have been reset. Apologies for this!
Added in Level Quests! These appear after you defeat the first boss, and challenge you to complete tasks each level. Complete the tasks for special rewards like gold, loot, runes and even Warp Mirrors (full version only)
Added Warp Mirrors( will be in full version). Single use items that allow you to skip most elevator levels (not doorways/bosses). They disappear upon use
Added 44+ Achievements to the game ( full version only)
Finished all monster and boss sprites (full version only)
Finished all character classes (full version only)
Redesigned Tower Shoppe Screen so it is vertical now
Misc bugfixes and many other changes!

Demo Feedback

Very interesting concept, I like it. Some feedback: The voice over for the game needs to either be able to be muted or the voice needs some tweaking. It's very grating to listen to constantly. The way the shield bounces when hit very hard is distracting,dunno of another way to represent that, though. The snakes and ladders sucks. I got stuck in a loop of a snakes outcome about 6 or 7 times, repeating level 3. Not really fun. Then getting a ladder and I still didn't feel like I was crushing it. The...

How do you access the demo ?

On the youtube channel of the dev, a demo was annonced for this game (and some other threads show that it exists), but I cannot find it anywhere. Is it somehow restricted ? (I'm in France).
