Do you have to play Dark Deity 1 to enjoy DD2?
We get this question a lot so I figured I would pin a discussion post for those who come looking.

thank you :)
Came here curious about this as well. I had came across and hoped to check out the first one at some point but gaming backlog + work decided to take up all my time. Saw the announcement on Dark Diety 2 and got excited again since I love these types of games. Had also wondered if I'd miss a lot of context by not having had a chance to play thru the first game or not.

Appreciate the pinned discussion.
I wasn't a fan of the first game. Can't say why, something just didn't click with me. Not saying it was a bad game, i just couldn't get into it.

That being said I bought this game and IS QUICKLY becoming one of my favorite games.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING JOB!!!!!!

I hope you guys continue doing this kind of work and I am no a fan of this franchise and if you release this game on other platforms i'll buy it there just to support you guys in the hopes a 3rd game will eventually be made.
as someone who never knew/played DD1, i'm enjoying DD2 very much of it as a standalone. However, i can also well imagine that having some more detailed background from DD1 can make things little? somewhat? more interesting, pariticularly in terms of understanding the details/background of the story and characters.
