Reviews and forum are scaring me

- Huge concern about social policies / woke infection (characters covered up/reduced like Puritan America/Saudi Arabia, etc)
- Criticisms about the writing and fun mechanics removed
- Never finished the first one, I think (?????) I got very far, I think I may have had PS2 boss RPG rage syndrome. I just can't remember.

I can't compare to the first one because i havent done it, but for this game I am at chapter 7/30 and i didnt spot any woke ideas.

As for the writing i would not say it is awful but it is just classic story for this kind of game classic bad empire on conquest while trying to do some evil ♥♥♥♥.

The worst part of the writing is the characters who just feel bland and stereotypical, female MC trying to be perfect to make her dad proud, comic relief brother who joke around constantly, serious uncle who knows everything, cynical sorcerer, kid discovering the world who secretly have a huge potential and a girl who takes everything literally.
Imo the best one is the jock but i didnt meet them all.

The great thing is they have Voice actors but i suppose some people can think their one line when they fight can be annoying.

I don't know about the fun mechanics in the first one but this one has some combinations with the equipment and ability which is not the case in the old fire emblem but nothing crazy.

It can still be considered good writing if it's done well, fire emblem fates had the same kind of story with nohr and the japanese country and it was good.

It is the writer who should leave their bubble to try more original story. How many time have we seen this kind of story.

And as for the fan service the first game had some with the sorceress and the beach dlc nothing surprising that it's being asked by the players who did the first game and liked it

Imo the woke complaint are more about the writing that feels forced like Dragon Age veilguard.

Look, not that I'm advocating you do this because I think the game is great and you should support it, but if you're really *so worried* about whether you'll like it or not, why not just buy it and try it out for an hour or so? Absolute worst comes to worse you refund the game.
