(I still refunded but SP is fine)
It makes no sense... I hope they patch it soon enough.
I must say the AI is better, which is the only "plus" I found on this collection.
I would say it is worth getting this one on a sale. But hey to each their own.
and you can just get the unofficial 1.3 patch to fix that anyways
Don't listen to these people lol (Notice how some of them don't even have either game in their libraries).
Single player has been great; I've spent almost 20 hours now playing the BF1 and BF2 collection. I've beaten BF1's campaign and only encountered one bad glitch (the game crashes if you have distortion effects graphic settings off on only one of the missions). Other than that, there is a sound glitch that I hear sometimes. And sometimes characters' feet get stuck to the ground and I have to jump to get unstuck. These are the only problems I encountered with the collections, and they were very minimal. Sure, it's not acceptable that it's like this, but it should get fixed.
Controller and SteamDeck support for both collection games are straight out of the box; you don't need to adjust anything. There is a graphic upgrade as well.
Graphically, all four games, OG and collection, out of the box, the collection is about three times better looking. I'm sure OG can have better-looking graphics with mods, but the collection will soon obviously have mods as well, and it will be even better.
The main menu and in-game character selection menu are both better in the collection games too. (I just did a comparison one hour ago.)
I can't speak much for online; I didn't spend enough time on it.
BF2 collection version is missing cut scenes (even though they seem to all be in the movies folder), has multiplayer issues and inverted control settings, but the single player runs well, although I hear the galactic conquest has an issue where one of the commands is assigned to the controller and you can't unassign it? It also has the better Xbox menu instead of the static PC menu, so the UI is nicer. The main thing for me is that above 1080p the maps don't load with graphical issues like the original did.
BF2 2005 classic requires some fan patches, mods, and some command line fiddling if you want FOV, HD UI and menus, and there's even a fan fix to run the game at your refresh rate if you have a monitor above 60Hz. Although this causes the physics to freak out on the vehicles sometimes. The main glaring issues is the giant blue or color squares that show up on some of the maps above 1080p. The only way to stop this is to lower your resolution, or just deal with it.
