Curious about single player mode
I get that there are issues with the multiplayer mode, but if I just stuck to the SP campaigns would I have a good time with this game?

Personally that's what I'm doing as I never played much MP mode. The old games on Steam out of the box gave me display resolution nightmares and didn't support my controller. This one out of the box works better for me without spending an hour or more configuring and modding to what still might not be the best result. I can have a good time against AI and campaign modes/whatever. It's fine. YMMV.

I think its fine.
For me its about being able to boot it up and play on the deck and pc with cloud save etc.

Multipalyer has been working better.
Just had my first disconnect of the day but have been playing all morning in BF1 multiplayer.

I've only played for an hour and a half, but it looks okay from my end. I can finally play on ultrawide resolution + full controller support

I also played on MP earlier in the day and it was okay, atleast the server I was on had like 250 tickets instead of 100

Single player mode works pretty good on BF1. There is a bug on one of the planets that completely crashes the game if you have a specific graphic settings but I figured that out and made a thread about it.

Other than that, there is sometimes an audio glitch that sounds like someone blows into a microphone. And there is a glitch that sometimes your character gets stuck and cant move, jumping gets you unstuck.

Singleplayer is overall fine besides the audio issues, missing cutscenes, and removed settings. Same with Splitscreen.

Oh... it's still painful...

Only issue I've had in SP is very infrequent sound glitches. I think it's good for SP. And even multiplayer has felt pretty good today too. Give it a little time and it'll be a great buy for both MP and SP.

Better off playing the original release with mods if you want to play singpleplayer. This version is missing a bunch of videos for the 501st campaign and has less options and is just more buggy and is MORE expensive.

This.
While instant action seems fine, I would not even suggest to buy this collection for campaign at the moment because some of the cutscenes are missing. Wait or buy the original titles.

This highlights it basically^ There are too many issues for it to be worthwhile for the singleplayer alongside Galactic Conquest which has issues for those using just mouse and keyboard. You're better off getting the OG games which are cheaper, actually work, and have mod support for community-added features.

Stick to the old ones if you only care about SP
If you're a total nob in installing simple mods to play sp then go for this one. Just don't be surprised that they removed cut scenes from campaign.
On the other hand the AI is more aggressive now.
I refunded but plan to get it for wayyy less.
Also have fun.

Single player is currently a nightmare for me - it crashes constantly, which is a huge pain in the ass when it crashes right after you beat a mission but before you can put down a save. and then sometimes that save is corrupted and you have to pull from a different one.

Are there mods for the first one?
I got the second one modded up but was never aware of anything for BF1 - not that i did much looking i just always assumed BF2 was the focus.

That sucks. I've not had a single crash or save data corruption *crosses fingers*

Yeah mine single has been fine as well.
Multi seems much better now. Lots of servers and can almost always join one.

Only had one single disconnect all day. Main complaint is the ping but i guess that simulates my crap connection i had back in the day.
