Honest/objective review of the PC version(not a doompost)
Soooo I've read all the concers and decided to test it myself after work, so here it is, I'll try to adress everything I've read in the last 24 hours:
-The steam version starts without a problem for me, no blackscreen or anything
-The OG Playstation menus I think a blessing over the janky PC ones

General UI/Menu review: In both games the UI looks great even on a 4k TV, not just the design but they are big enough letters.
Options: In both games you are able to play both M&K and controller. The controller on PC is properly supported, there is even aim-assist and it works.
The game has general graphic options I've found it it odd that there are no resolution setting, I think it auto detects.
I didn't test much the space maps, but in the menu indeed didn't found axis flipping option, although I did found sensitivity options for both mouse and controller x, y axis which with the aim assist gives a great experience with controller on PC.
Campaign/splitscreen
BF1:
I've tested the the split screen and the campaign, the loading screen is indeed missing the oldschool "peep peep", although I've seen on some PS5 builds that has working loading screen sound, probably audio glitch in terms of PC drivers or PC version has another older build.
The campaign runs great both alone and with splitscreen, I've tested splitscreen campaign with keyboard as well as two other controller connected at the same time, you can switch between them with no problem, the button promps change as well with it.
There was another audio bug in the campaign: When I started the Star Wars theme just didn't start.
I've only played the first 2 levels of the campaign because of the Steam 2 hours thing. It looks like there is indeed missing cinematics at the end of the levels, if there is any I don't remember where it should be or where not, but here wasn't at the end of the levels.
BF2:
Almost the same as for BF1 but I haven't met with audio bugs in BF2 personally, the splitscreen works just as well.
General graphics
The A.I upscale looks great, considering it's A.I I mean if I'm looking at from upclose I can see the A.I smudge, but in no way bother's my while I'm playing, it's not overdone. Although this is only true for gameplay, the A.I upcale on movies looks horrible, idk why they couldn't take/cut from the film properly, they have the rights for that scenes.
There is a new lighting system compared to the original which hasn't got. Overall it makes the game better by about 70%, the other 30% is maps where the game lacks bloom effects and it makes it worse looking, for example Mustafar the lava lacks bloom effect.

Because it's PC because the mods work you can just easily exchange the textures with mods

Online play
This is strange, and the reason is....
BF1 on both Aspyr servers and player hosted ones DON'T have an FPS cap, you play with buttery smooth 150fps, the netcode gives a somewhat jankyness to it but overall it's a really fun experience.
BF2 on the other hand has a 60FPS cap on Aspyr servers and 30FPS cap if you are the host of the server. If you join to a player hosted server: Some claim sometimes it's either 60 or 30fps. The 5 player hosted ones I joined was all 30fps capped for me.
There wasn't lag for me during play despite the FPS cap.

Crashes
I've only ever met with crashes in 1 place but several times: When I was trying to set different video settings.
It didn't crash during campaign, but I did not play it all the way through yet. Otherwise no crashing in the 2 hours of testing at all during game.

Conclusion:
If you are looking for the single player experience it's worth it, even if you have the originals. The splitscreen and proper controller support and the new lighting system as a combination worth it.
Especially with texture mods. For me even the Playstation menus are a big upgrade.
If you are in it for the online experience:
BF1 at the moment is a better experience because there is no FPS cap.
If you want to play BF2 badly only play on Aspyr hosted servers, and yes THERE IS more servers than 3 now about 8-10.
Even besides the fps issue, I think the game would benefit from a general netcode update, it's not worse than the original but not better either.
Oh yeah one more thing: Since some console players were claiming there is no aim assist:
I'd like to point out that there is aim assist in the game, I played on PC but probably even on console BUT! the server host decides whether it is turned on or not, there is an option for this in the server host settings.

I haven't experienced audio jumpscares so far playing on switch, but I have ran into audio bugs in the GC map. It keeps playing "all fleets on standby" either before or after making any menu swaps in that mode. The bonuses should be bright, all the bonuses appear like they're greyed out when they shouldn't be like that all the time, only for select circumstances or if they're not highlighted. zooming works fine on bf 1 but bf 2's first person and sniping is a bit bugged for some reason. There's a transparent black box on screen that's supposed to fill the whole screen but it wasn't scaled so it just sits in the middle of the screen. And naturally the oddly pitched audio for objectives completed in campaign, the victory audio, and ending cutscenes in BF2's campaign don't play.

Many of these issues seem easily fixable from an outsider, but I really hope they fix this stuff pronto, someone rushed the devs on this collection to meet a deadline and it shows.
