i will take his clown awards please, or even my own.

its been 3 weeks since the last patch on pc, i believe its been 1 week since the same patch was put on consoles.

i would love to see multiplayer working better, but single player for me at least is working great. ive been playing this game for ages and honestly its always been a single player games/co op.

also you dont own it so how would you know?

This. Multiplayer in this game is fun for a bit but it's essentially the same as instant action in single player. There is no online progression like a leveling system or things to unlock or progress. So, it was always going to only last so long before majority of the player base moved on.

The campaigns, galactic conquests and some instant action here and there are what defined this game for me when I was a kid and that's what I still think does now with the addition of achievements too and some QoL updates that have helped improve it.

nah its always been about the multiplayer in these games. idk if youre old enough to remember, but these types of games back then didnt have level progression and tons of unlocks locked behind whatever. you just hopped in and played. People played it for years that way with all sorts of games like this. It just took the bf1942 formula and made it starwars. albeit, starwars had an actual singleplayer mode with a story. but ya, its always been about the massive online multiplayer that was sweeping the scene 2004 onward.

I'm old enough to have had this when it came out and this game had unlocks. It had all the the same unlocks it has now and yet nobody was really playing this online. Online didn't really become a big thing until the console generations after this. yeah there was Xbox Live, but it wasn't so ubiquitous that people hopped onto an online game like the did when the PS3, GameCube, and Xbox 360 came out. People playing this game were all about splitscreen with instant action, galactic conquest, and the story. Battlefront 1 didn't have unlocks, but this one did and still does. Online gaming that wasn't on PC was rare and this game wasn't on pc at the time. If you mean in general games around this time didn't have unlocks though, then yeah, I can get behind that. Power Ups would be thrown around maps usually instead of permanent upgrades, if that. Sometimes it really was just a straight up match with the only the characters you chose or the ones it gave you.

This cost them nothing and it sold very very well. it was insanely successful and combing that with the fact it was so low effort it must have made them a lot of money, there is no reason for them to fix it. They can just quietly leave it while counting the dough

Given the negative reception they are probably having to get a plan together. Stuff like this takes time. I highly doubt it is abandoned. We unfortunately just have to be patient.

Even if we even get the patch 2, most likely it will be the last thing Aspyr will ever do to improve this game.

Yeah it was. I still have the boxed copy I bought in 2005. You obviously weren't around at the time.
