It's already 8 euros in keyshop
It's coming closer to the true value of the game (which is about 2 euros)

But I will only buy it when the split screen works. it's the only reason for the whole game anymore, everything else is better in the original game.

But if any game is eligible to be bought there, then this one, which is just a failed update from the original. If you've already paid for the originals, you really shouldn't have to pay anything more for this. Of course, it would have been fairer if the price here on Steam was suitable for owners of the original games. That is, a few euros. Then there is no need for unreliable keyshop pages.

thing about that is you risk getting your key revoked if the publisher deems so

I can really not recommend buying keys from sites like this.
More than likely, you're looking at stolen keys that were obtained through illegal methods.
When reported, all those keys will be revoked, and your purchase will be removed from your library.

Here's a tip: Just buy the originals. Money better spent.

Who cares. Paying less is all that concern us.

This literally never happens because there's no way for them to track such a thing.

Why wouldn't it be possible to track it back?
Let's say someone uses a stolen credit card to pay for keys, you can actually very precisely trace back to what purchases have been made where. If due to the stolen credit card, the bank ends up trying to get as much of the money back as possible, it would be very easy for the shop that originally generated the key to know which key they generated with that specific purchase.

Yes, you absolutely can track it back and it has absolutely happened. After that, all that needs to happen is to invalidate the specific key and that will revoke ownership of the game. If you activate a game on Steam, the specific key used to activate it is associated with your library.

If I buy a game on HumbleBundle for example and get a gamekey, why wouldn't it be possible to track that I've made that specific purchase on my Credit Card?

This also has its own Steam Help Page for that.
See:

"The CD Key you used to activate the game was revoked by the publisher of the game. This can happen, [...] if the publisher determines that the CD Key itself had been obtained by fraudulent means."

Buying something with a stolen credit card for example means that each and every purchase can be traced back to the exact shop and specific item that was purchased with it, and Steam knows about each and every key that has been used on your account to activate something.

Yeah, that sounds plausible in theory, good luck actually bothering with actually doing it. Too much of a hassle to even bother with. That's just PR talk to give devs a sense of security.

pretty sure you'll care if your key gets revoked
Sasha Mason May 10, 2024 @ 2:58pm
It is a hassle, but at the same time, people have complained about getting their game keys revoked when they bought them from sites like these.

In the end, for me, it doesn't matter.
I won't support their shady practices, and I also won't support Aspyr's shady practices with releasing a broken game that is in no way worth its money.

You do you, though. Won't affect my own morale standards.

It is 100% possible to track keys and revoke them

No matter how cheap do not fall for this scam. Go buy the originals, this thing is oversized garbage with broken multiplayer.
Well, not cheap enough for sure.
I would not play it for free...
It is not worthy of my TIME.
Something I will never get back.
Vinpascal May 11, 2024 @ 3:49am
Just buy it on the good sites. Allkeyshop just shows the cheapest prices from multiple key shops. Never ever had a key revoked.
