it looks like the textures are all HD upscaled/remade in the screenshots. though theres no reason those should make it 50 gb even if theyre all 4k textures. sounds like they did a bad job compressing it to me lol

placeholder and also graphics have been upscaled, uncompressed graphic textures are alot bigger then normal plus everything has to be 4k nowadays so that adds more gigs ontop of the upscaled textures.

I also wanna know why it that big, I mean did they just make all textures upscale to 4k or something? Zero file compression or something? New engine that just cause things to be larger than should be?

Yeaaaahhh 50GB for this? It better have some amazing features.. like armor customization colors or styles for your army while you play.. I would love to play as the red painted ARC troopers with the phase 1 armor in a BFII game.. but other than customization, there is no reason for this to be so huge.

The Switch version indicates 25 GB. I don't understand, how it can have half the size, when the game will probably look the same on all platforms. I mean, we are talking here about XBox / PS2 visuals.

could be that they also upscaled the video cutscenes, and for Switch they maybe kept it to 720p.

If you include all the sound and movie files from all the localizations the game size increases quite a lot.
The GOG version that I have is about 10 GB and includes the European languages.
50 GB sounds reasonable if they upscale the videos and include multiple localizations.
