I love battlefront 2 but...

I don't understand why I would buy the same game again. I'm not going to deny that Battlefront 2 as it is on the Steam page has compatibility problems but unless they put something like a workshop I simply don't understand the purchase.

I won't pay 30 - 40 dollars for what is basically a qol update. I imagine it will be broken on launch like the updates they did on bf2 that they ended up having to retract because of how much it broke the game.

BF1 is better than BF2. Has better UI that doesn't look like the ugly placeholder UI of BF2. Has the better maps, like Rhen Var Citadel, Bespin Platforms and pretty much every other map. BF2 has garbage ground maps, space combat is boring and ground combat is dumbed-down and too easy - you can just run forward and hold down LMB on the trooper with the full automatic rifle.

It’s a 20$ game that adds content and QoL features to the game. Costs the same as both games currently listed on Steam. No idea where you’re getting that price from

GOG would not be amused, since they fought for the classic games being rereleased digitally with their GOG galaxy multiplayer implemented instead of gamespy.

Maybe the classics will co-exist with this collection. I could bet, alone mods would justify to keep the originals around, otherwise the backlash will be huge. I think there is even already a removed patch from GOG, to ensure mod-compatibility with the classic originals.

Honestly unless mods from swbf1 and swbf2 can be ported easily to this I don't see the point either beside the multiplayer.

the "new" maps have been modded into the game ages ago so why even bother.

You have to deal with this, Old games are getting updated so we have to buy them again, It should be fine for a 20 year old game.

I just got it for 28$. I think it was 20% off because I had the original games. For me it's worth the QoL updates and extra maps/heroes.

Controller support and the DLC maps is the big one for me. yes it can be modded in but it's buggy, I know because I did it

You can buy both games on sale or on third-party key sites for less than 5 dollars,,,,
