It’s a 20$ game that adds content and QoL features to the game. Costs the same as both games currently listed on Steam. No idea where you’re getting that price from

Maybe the classics will co-exist with this collection. I could bet, alone mods would justify to keep the originals around, otherwise the backlash will be huge. I think there is even already a removed patch from GOG, to ensure mod-compatibility with the classic originals.
the "new" maps have been modded into the game ages ago so why even bother.
It is what it is.
You can buy both games on sale or on third-party key sites for less than 5 dollars,,,,
