They could easily make a live service like this, similar to say AOE games, with new civs... they just won't because they want to nickel and dime everyone with currency DLC micro garbage instead.

there is addons maps in moddb that add new factions, maybe modders can make little addons like that and make servers with only those addons maps? disney and specially aspyr are not going to add anything new after release.

Gamers thinking they're entitled to remasters, remakes, releases, and decades of updates for free. It's absurd. It's a nice bonus... but ranting about how you deserve it thousands of dev hours for free just comes off tacky, cheap and unwilling to support stuff.
This re-release not taken "thousands of dev hours", maybe a week of porting the game to each console and then running all the textures though an AI upscaler. It is not absurd for a developer to patch a game that will ultimately bring in more sales by doing so. It's literally tried, tested, and true. The reason they aren't doing it for BF2 is because there are so many people who will pay for an update that should be a free patch. That's the whole point of my argument.

The rest of your post had nothing to do with what I said; I didn't come here for some online pseudo-psychiatric evaluation, but I appreciate your concern.

I'm talking about content live service, new factions & maps. It clearly says that in the comment you've quoted too.

It's a real shame what happened with EA's BF, specifically BF2 and it's obsession with microtransactions and packs. By the time they fixed it, people were long gone.

Sorry you got automatically salty buddy. A new Battlefront game not focused on money, with campaigns, galactic conquest, online modes & maps... that would be great.

I just think it's entertaining that you don't understand that even a weeks worth of dev work is hundreds to thousands of hours depending on the size of the team. I don't think you realise how much it costs to employ people to work for a week, let alone an extended period of game development and employment.
I do understand that if they had patched the original game like they did with EaW, numerous press articles, YouTube videos, forum posts, etc. would've been made about it and there would've been an influx of purchases which would have supported the development time. It snowballs and pays for itself. Will this re-release be more profitable for them? Absolutely. The devs get paid either way.

haha I never said I wasn't doing ad hom, why would I when I am calling your ideas out for being stupid. You actually brought ad hom up. That's why I mocked it. You went on about ad hom, whilst ad hom'ing the whole room. It's silly.

So yeah, ignoring that I think you're having a terrible case of thinking your opinion is the only right one and everyone else is sheep... your idea is centered around you getting free stuff for nothing. All I can say is, you get a loyalty discount for buying the ogs on Steam, (WAY after they released, you are not owed much.) That's all you need really.

Buy it, don't buy it, who cares man. The old ones are there for you to play. But getting on forums and rattling on about how everyone else is stupid for buying it... judgemental drivel, hence the mocking.

-THE OLD REPUBLIC (Remastered) A total conversion modification which brings the aesthetics, characteristics and features of Bioware's The Old Republic - 3653 BBY
-REPUBLIC COMMANDO
-CLONE WARS EXTENDED
-Eps2 Geonosis & Geonosis 1.1.4(Map)
-Capital Strike (Map)
-Coruscant Droid invasion (Map)
-Capital Strike (Map)
-Raxus Prime (Map)
-Clone Wars Kashyyyk 1.1.4 (Map)
-Hoth ESB (Map)
-Suun ra Desert City (Map)
-Kothlis Sea Heaven (Map)
