What's the difference between new & old ?
Is online dead on this version? Because when the new bf classic collection comes out it promises online capabilities so I'm just curious what is the difference? If I had the previous copy from the new Will players be able to play each other?...or will this force you to only play the newest version...im confused....SO WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

Nothing that justifies the price.

tbh the price tax is just 10$ more, and the game runs on 64bit systems now,
comes with two games and xbox live 1.0 dlcs.

that said 12$ for the classics alone is too much for a old games,
thats 12+12+tax makes it 29 rounded off to 30$ in quebec canada.

so the price isnt exactly expensive but for standalone or boudle its a bit too much either way,

imo the standalone copies should be around 3$ max on steam not 12$ canadian.

You'll need the Classic Edition if you are considering Multiplayer. It's a different Game compared to the Standalone older BF Games.

Basically it's a combined Game with the Originals where various things like Visuals have been Updated, Xbox Exclusive Content is available for both Games in this Collection, Hero Assault has more Maps, and so on.

There also with be Trophies or Achievements depending on where one is playing this.

Whether or not it's "justified" for it's Price is up for debate. If one is worried about this Game for the Long Term when it comes to Multiplayer, it would be safer to get this for PC, it'll last far longer.

There is no Crossplay, so no PC to Playstation or PC to Xbox or PS to Xbox, etc. PS4 + PS5 will be able to do Multiplayer together. Xbox Consoles (for the 2 latest generations) will be able to do Multiplayer together as well.

Multiplayer is still accessible via community server mods for the originals that can be attained within less than 10 minutes.

New one has splitscreen, AI upscaled textures, Xbox OG exclusive maps and characters. Most this can be modded(not sure about splitscreen), but ease and what not.

Sure, but it's a very limited amount of Players that has been dwindling for years.

This is going to be fresh, new, and running a Game which has been reworked to bring it up to "Modern"-ish standards. It's going to have the hype around it for the immediate Launch + Weeks and maintain a good Population for Months to come.

It would be like Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad getting an "Collection Edition" akin to what the Original SWBF Games are. It would be akin to the reactions we are seeing, but there would be a lot of hype for it. I personally would get such as I loved RO2 Multiplayer for the German-Soviet Content.

Battlefront II the one from 2005 already available had its servers revived by the devs a few years ago. You can go play it right now no loopholes necessary
