Split-screen campaign?
I just found out about this thing being announced... I need to ask.

I'm seeing that this "remaster" has extra features and fluff compared to the original; does this restore the local co-op campaign from the old console versions?
The feature that got removed from the original PC release for literally no reason?

I recently co-op'd through the first game with a friend, but we had to play the PS2 version for it which was less than ideal.
Being able to play the second one together in a proper PC release with better performance would be an absolute dream.

People can only assume right now, but I think it's kind of safe to assume it probably does, my reasoning being it has splitscreen meaning they more than likely used the console version as a baseline and not the pc version, which removed every trace of splitscreen. So unless they gutted these features for no apparent reason (Which would honestly just take more time, effort, and money for absolutely no gain whatsoever) they should still be present theoretically.

So now that the game's out (online issues aside), has anyone been able to check and confirm that?
I'm asking because I have not bought the game, and this feature being in or not would pretty much be a deal breaker for me.

If you want, you can add me and we can try remote play briefly. Game won't let splitscreen menu progress without 2 controllers I don't think (or mkb + 1 controller remote play).

Oh I'd love to but again, I don't own the game.
I didn't want to top up 20 bucks into Steam for something I wasn't sure would be worth the price (or a refund).

But from what you're saying, the splitscreen modes seem to be at least present and accessible from the menu? Which likely confirms that the co-op campaign is there as I was hoping?

Just add the guy and test it, only one person needs the game for remote play (the host computer) lol

Oh sick, I haven't used remote play before so I wasn't aware of that...
Sure, I can try that then. Will update the thread with the results.

Hey, lost the thread in the shuffle. I just accepted your friend request.

We did the Remote Play thing, can confirm.
Local splitscreen/co-op works PERFECTLY fine.
It's up to 2 players only (apparently the xbox version used to work up to 4?) but aside from that it's basically the same as it worked on console, just... with PC graphics and performance.

You'll need TWO controllers for it though. It doesn't seem to allow for KB+M on one player and gamepad on the other.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
