Original game clarification please
Its been a long time since I played the originals. When you play with bots do they fill all available player spots or is bot-play limited?
Asking because I'm wondering if the 64 player battles will be fully populated with bots if doing single player.

it's pretty much the exact same game as before. Just go to Instant Action mode, pick your map, pick your gametype, and set it to 64 bots.

Could you do 64 bots in the original though?

In the PC version, yes. Technically the PC version could go up to 128 bots in XL mode.

Okay thanks for clarifying. Psyched to play this again. Been awhile since I've played a game with solid large-scale bot numbers like that.
I'd love to see a re-release of the old battlefield games. I have fond memories of storming the beaches of normandy in battlefield 1942 with all those glorious bots. Really felt like a war compared to other games i've played with like half the amount of bots.

The 2017 Dice Battlefront 2 has a pretty solid Instant Action mode that I enjoy from time to time. The console version is limited to 14v14 but on PC you can do 64 bots and it's pretty damn fun. No galactic conquest, but the actual fighting and battles themselves are great with lots of atmosphere. AI heroes are fun to saber duel with.

I have battlefront 2 from 2017 and I always feel like the maps in that one are too small. I may be mistaken but if memory serves the instant action only uses the smaller maps. I hate playing online but the online for that one was pretty sick with the huge kashyyyk map and whatnot. Broke my heart when the offline version felt so neutered by comparison.

You are probably thinking of Arcade mode, which is the offline PVE that the game first launched with. That only had 10v10 bots on small maps. In 2019, Dice added TRUE offline Instant Action like the older games, 64 bots on the big Supremacy maps with AI vehicles and Heroes. You can play classic Conquest or a really fun attack/defend mode kind of like Battlefield's Breakthrough mode. If you install the IAO XL mod, you can get a bunch more modes like Heroes Vs Villains and Capture the Flag, and you can mix/match whatever factions you want on any map. Very fun.

Base game, it has Republic Commandos as special units for the Clones. It was the Commandos' first real appearance in current Disney canon besides Delta Squad's cameo in TCW show.

And the new game's Droidekas are actually really powerful now without being super OP, Dice gave them an ability that lets them overcharge their blasters and they basically turn into walking shielded artillery that moves really, really fast.

Sounds like I'm just going to have to give it a try. Most of the stuff I didn't like about it seems to be changed/corrected.

The graphics of the 2017 game were amazing (though I get lost with all the detail)

The Star Wars team at Dice really, really cared about the game and they pulled out all of the stops to save it after EA completely ruined the launch. Every time they talked about it you could tell how much they loved Star Wars and cared about the game. I hated it at launch, but as the months went by and the "new team" took over, I loved watching their streams and seeing how excited they were each month to reveal new content and all the cool stuff they'd been doing.

The worst part of the game nowadays is that EA killed support RIGHT when the game was at its peak. I will never forgive EA for both ruining the launch, AND killing it when it was truly becoming amazing. At least now we have mods for it.
