People are really buying it, but how long will it be online...

I'd rather wait for the actual release and some time after that.

You having second thoughts because you read steam forums? Don't care about that. People here are reward baiters and trolls. Vocal minority screams how bad this game but silent majoority always right.

yeah...
If this supports mods it can be the best version of the game in the future. People complain about the price but with time and sales this version is going to be cheaper. Aspyr would have to do really bad with this game, in order that the originals will be more played than this now and in the future.

I think games like these need to be supported, at least if the guy have the money to do it. And together we can make a good community. Even chivalry 1 has enough players after so many years and with almost official server support ended.

Top 15 USA top 35 global in the steam top sellers.

Lots of people are just jester baiting. Or salty they don’t have spare cash.

I think it will be fine for a long while, certainly more alive than the classic ones already on steam.

save your money and see how its doing after a couple of weeks

It's going to be modded. Even if it's been technically upgraded and ported to a 64-bit platform, it's still the same games and engines that we have been modding and learning about for 20 years now. Even if Aspyr doesn't release *official* tools for the Collection version, the old ones will probably be adapted for it within a couple weeks.

Plus, with it being 64 bit now, modders will have MUCH higher memory limitations and more stability to create bigger things.

And is there any specific modder community? How many of them are ready to return with all this for more "radical" changes?

Not yet but it's been discussed in certain SWBF(classic) discord servers. At the very least modders will rip open the game day 1 and we'll also get videos comparing the current steam versions with this classic one.

After that we'll see how it goes but the game running on 64bit is good news and opens the possibilites for bigger mods in the future. People need to realize that even if MP dies out, modding on this version of the game could potentially be huge.

That's up to you.

Refund policy also states that the 2 week and 2 hour limitations don't start being enforced until after the game becomes playable. So you still have until about March 28 or 2 hours of playtime to try it and refund if you don't like it. So there's not exactly a rush or need to panic if you hate it.

Check my profile - I hardly ever post in the forums.

Silent majority hear - I played this game for an unreasonable amount of time in my youth; even if you don't play online the game is good alone.

I'd recommending refunding it. There isn't any point to owning this version if there's no crossplay. Might as well just buy the original versions for cheaper.

You could invest in the devs so they could have money to do something better later with battlefront 1 and 2.

No. They could've remastered the games like they did with Tomb Raider but they didn't do anything. I would say it's more reasonable to buy it on console than it is for PC.
