A big reason why i reversed my refund as soon as the patch dropped was because i knew its now or never. You either have to play while the iron is still hot or you aren't ever going to see that level of numbers in this game ever again.
Each patch might bring a burst of players but anyone that didn't jump in over launch week has most likely missed the best times with this game already.
Going into this i knew a new launch would attract enough players to populate both BF1 and BF2 for a few weeks which was enough time to soak up some awesome nostalgic sessions online with friends.
The game has perfectly ticked that box for me. Had an amazing time replaying old maps with active servers and people in the chat genuinely having a good time.
I grew bored again after a week and a bit of playing most evenings and have moved onto other games. Dragons Dogma is out. The sunshine is out etc but i'm super glad i got to experience this game when it had launch buzz because i don't think people are going to ever get that chance again with this or the originals.
It's worth a buy. If the price is too high, I get that. Don't miss out on this upgraded version of these games over the review bombers though. I've been having a blast and have not had any major issues. The only one for me is ultrawide and the menus does not fully work, but everything can still be selected.
How this is not on a 90% discount is beyond me.
Or maybe you can go play the originals instead of crying on these forums.
Why though? Why shouldn't I natively be able to enjoy these older games on modern hardware? Playing these in 3440x1440 is an excellent experience. That's great that you enjoy playing those older games at 1920x1080 or less, but I enjoy the more modern experience. Plus it looks better overall on my 3440x1440 monitor for the game I am playing to be that resolution.
The original games may still work for now. Many games do not though and given time the originals of these will not work on newer systems either if I had to guess. This collection is a good thing and I hope to see more games come back.
>Voicing your discontent with the game is crying
Are you alright, you don't seem to be.
If I can play KOTOR I & II on 4k ultra (And literally every other game I own) then I should be able to play these games on 4k as well. CC gives us that.
I agree the price is overblown. I'm not saying stating your opinion is wrong. I'm saying, instead of doing something constructive, you are here in the forums of a game you are heavily bias against, ridiculing people for enjoying said game because they find enjoyment where you do not.
Battlefront 1 campaigns completed and they all worked great. Only difference I see now in battlefront 1 is occasionally ill get a really loud static noise out of nowhere. Apart from that it's good. Will try battlefront 2 campaign soon.
If I'm honest even if it worked 100% flawlessly I'm not sure it would have retained players. People have been able to play the games with working online on steam for years. For some reason there isn't much demand for these games on pc.
Although maybe if the 10k who were on at launch found a smoother online experience more would have stayed. Who knows! Even today if they came back there would be same issue because there's only a handful of dedicated servers still and people don't start their own ones.
